  • What's going wrong with my plants?

I am tending my baby plants - grown from seed, same compost, same pots, same environment etc - yet randomly some plants are dying. OK, you could say the plant itself wasn't healthy, but when you get a whole pot of basil, or forget me not, or swan river daisies etc suddenly giving up and laying down on the soil looking like they've been sprayed with weedkiller, it makes you really wonder WTH has gone wrong!?!?

Anyone got any ideas what's happening and how I can prevent it?

First thought is damping off, if still at early seedling stage.

in my experience....;) [nil :D] i found that even tho soil is same etc. that some bits in the soil hold more water and whilst other pots look dry some may be moist...hence if all watered at same time some will be wetter = stem/root rot. try the dipstick test . use a fine stick bit like testing a cake [apparently ;)] if its wet dont water. also maybe water equal amount to each from the bottom [encourages roots when seeking the water level] not the top ?

right wake up everyone iv finished the monologue....:D

    ITSME:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: brilliant.....crepesuzzette...lol..

Poppy its was me asking about the pineapple mint... that does seem a good deal.... and the way my week is panning out i think i will treat myself to them..

Things are going from bad to worse in the CTC household:(

it started off losing our main contract... ( effects now starting to kick in on the business)

someone reported us to trading standards.... for so called dodgy scales, so all the on the spot checks were fine, and the information that the annonomous sp? person give did not fit the discription of the proceedure we do .

    plus other bits going wrong.

Working/child tax credits sent me a letter saying i was overpaid £720. 4 years ago ( havent claimed this in 4 years, as we heard people we worse off as they were being over paid, and couldnt afford to pay it back), and now they wanted the money back!!!!!
I asked why did it take them 4 years to contact me about this, and They said they did try phoning:rotfl:

    and to top it all...........

opened my mail yesturday, and i had 2 letters saying i had not paid my wonga.com loans:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

I havent taken any wongo loans out.... so basically cut a very long story short some ************************************** twonk..used my details to get over £800 worth of loans... so i went to the police to report it and get a crime number, and phoned wonga back up...When i asked for the details of the email and bank details they used to get the money, they couldnt give it to me because of data protection:rotfl: so obivously with these type of loans they are wide open.. I am going to contact my local mp regarding these loans, and to say how easy it is get loans out in other people's names, Flip when i wanted a loan from my bank i had to go through hoops and proper proof of who i was etc..

At least there is a bank account that the money has gone into, so the person responsible can be traced and caught..

Just panicking that they might have used other on-line loan companies too, so i am going to sign up to experian to see if anything else has been going on..

I think from now on i am going to be like the queen with 2 birthday's one for on-line things, and my proper one, as you just dont know...

Hope the new house hasnt jinxed me:o, as its all since the auction...

ooooo and i cant remember if i said but my bluebell cockera has died too

Just realised it was friday the 13th yesturday:eek:

Goodness me CTC, you've had a roller coaster of a ride. Fingers crossed this run of bad luck is over. Don't blame the house, cos that's your new start. Hope the credit check doesn't throw up anything scary.

CTC, I can't help with your contract & people who make false accusations (competitors?) but I know Tax Credits have to give you time to pay, by instalments, at a level which won't completely mess up your household budget.

Also, an appeal is always worthwhile. It was years ago now, but when TC underpaid us and then said it was too late for us to claim, the lady I spoke to on the phone gave me a broad hint, suggesting that if we felt we'd been misled, we should appeal.

Looking through the correspondence, it wasn't too hard to see why we'd failed to spot the underpayment, so we appealed and they paid out. I know that's t'other way around, but I'd have a look at the idea.

    Hiya.....

well sad to say i didnt get to tree hug today !!:j rain stopped play...
we went to the valley park still tho [male determination to go where he said we were gonna go despite sh*te weather ??;) ] there was a sort of "eco village" type show on which consisted of [please dont take this personal to any like minded folk BUT ] a bunch of people sat singing "kumbyiya style" in a colored tent that looked like an argos special.. a fortune teller who i glimpsed sat in her tent eating a BACON roll next door to the VEGAN stall... a woman with ferrets draped on her ...singing ?? and another chap doing a mobile wheelbarrow solar fed disco... INTERESTING...:rotfl::rotfl:
We sat precariously astride a thin bench seat in a thin open air carriage of a mini steam train to go round the park...i felt like a garden gnome....:D going through the tunnels was  ... all the smoke came backwards and it was "take a deep breath, hold it and......breathe again !:rotfl:

it was definately a DIFFERENT day...:D i was cold, wet, hungry and pleased to get home .:o

im going to have a nose round the car boot sale tomorow morning [if its not raining] then plant my plants.

CTC...ooooooooooo you poor thing. re TC ask for ALL copies of ALL paperwork for period [1 years worth] be interesting cos i advised someone else to do that and they said to her they only keep relevant details on computer and not the "signed" paperwork after 2 years. i advised her to ask for ABSOLUTE proof that she gave either incorrect information [paperwork not what THEY fed into thier computers !!]or that she took knowingly the incorrect amount based on the information she supplied to them AND they must show how they calculated the amount paid AND show that they sent you in writing how they had come to the figures that they did. To say you must pay back is not in actual fact legal without all relevant information.the onus is on them to show you clearly where/how/when they mis calculated these payments . the fact they say "any overpayment must be repaid" is legal with PROOF.
if [as i think you may find ;)] they cannot/are not prepared to supply this then advise them to take you to the small claims court where this evidence MUST be produced......
this worked for my friend but cannot garuntee for you but HELLS BELLS worth a try ???:D

    LIR.....BRAINWAVE ALERT.... what if...

if a grill was put halfway across your poop pit and a mini digger moved all gunk from deep side to shallower side, thus water draining to deeper side which you can pump at leisure ? when most drained off [few hours] use digger to shift poop pile to wherever and then in future dump your poop on the shallower side to allow water [fertiliser] through to deep side...be used at a later date??:D:D
