The sun came out so 2 lovely hours in the garden. Bees were enjoying the purple crocus and ladybirds galore have survived the mild winter.

    Zero flying done.

Time for a cuppa and DS3 has a friend so early dinner and they are going to the cinema with DS2 so I'll stop in at Waitrose and Sainsbury on a bargain hunt whilst they are in there to see what's on offer for the weekend.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes - love the cake Dusty.
Greenbee - don't worry on the gardening book, I have lots. I usually CS the pretty garden design ones.
mrs-moneypenny - I now feel very guilty about how few clothes my children have. Every six months or so I bin all of the socks and buy them ten new identical pairs (black for DS1, grey for DS2) and this helps a lot. I do have regular ruthless clear outs of their clothes as well, I suspect this will change once they have any interest in what they wear.

We went for a long walk, lunch in the pub and then a long walk back. Really enjoyed it although I now regret stripping our bed before we went.

i have hardly bought any of them except the socks and pants:o. The socks happened because im the only person in the house capable of pairing them we honestly had a big box full of odd socks it took me 3 hours the other week to go through them - there is a pillowcase of odd ones i have given everyone till the end of the month to find odds in the drawers and put in the laundry or they will all go in the bin. im too soft and should deligate more jobs but ive left it too late and the shock would probally be too much for them if i tried now.
loads of his trousers and Tees have either been picked up at car boots over the summer, they are things from his older brother and mostly i have a friend and a sister who have slightly older boys and they give me loads.
ive given them a serious cull a full black bag has gone down the clothes bank and i have two black bags to take down the CS next weekend. He really had too many clothes some hes never worn as there is so much stuff he tends to dress from the pile i put in after doing the washing so its the same few outfits over and over again, when i did the ironing all the kids comments that ive given them clothes they had forgotten they had:o
i think now ive had a good clear out he will be able to see the wood for the trees and will wear more of his clothes and the charity shop will certainly benefit from the extra stock.

my fil god rest him used to always say "doesn't matter how rich you are you can only ever wear one pair of shoes and one pair of trousers at a time"

Thanks for the comments everyone - DD's 10. She is allowed to go to the park with her friend which is what she wanted to do if it's ok with her friend's parents as it's their house they go back and forth to as they live by the park but obviously only if it's been agreed first.

    Dusty - how old's DS3?

Off to Mum and Dad's shortly for tea so just going to run the hoover round the LR and then get ready to go.

    Catch you all later

He is 10 too, but just a couple of weeks ago so Year 5 at school. It is quite a tricky age for them wanting to get a bit of freedom. I walk him to school but he generally walks home (5 minutes no roads to cross until he is opposite our house which is the quiter end of the road away from school). I pick him up if he has been to an afterschool club as it is later and there are less people around plus he is more tired.

Lots of books obtained at the library. Few good bargains in the supermarkets.

DW on. Going to wash up and have a cuppa then head on up to start one of my books.

Teenage boys clothes Mumto5? Got some really nice boxer shorts and surf style shorts in ASDA yesterday at great prices. Top end of kids stuff but plenty large enough for mine.

Hex my boys have very few clothes, DS1 has the most as he has stopped growing sometime back so they are more worthwhile.

    Morning All

Valli - had you been drinking?

Dusty - I was just asking as DS no longer fits in his 11/12 grey school trousers and he's hardly worn them and I knew you were after school trousers for DS3.

We're going shopping this morning and then once DD has tidied her room the plan is for DH to finish stripping the walls so they can be painted. Lots of flying to do anyway so I won't be bored. Part of the filling came out of my bad tooth yesterday so that's giving me some gip again so I'm not impressed.

    Have a good day all

    Hugs
