    New thread!

The dog has wind so I'm going to go to bed shortly and stick him in the kitchen so he can't stink the whole house out!

    Evening all

Exciting times ahead, froddy. Are you looking to move far from where you are now? We're still in the first house I bought in 1993 and probably wouldn't gain much from moving. Just got to make more of what we have. :o

This has been a spectacularly unsuccessful week for me in terms of flying and work. That's got to change this week, or things will pile up so much that I'll lose courage. I'll talk to DS1 later about helping more, but will need a different strategy for DH - identifying things for him to do each day without asking him openly to do more. Sounds stupid, I know, but I think I'll get further that way. Hopefully he'll be happier to get involved when he sees progress.

I'll aim for dailies and dot-to-dotting, posting successes.

DS in bed with a king-sized hangover - he will be 20 on Tuesday - can anyone tell me if this phase lasts long - he seems to be getting worse atm...

What is his situation? DD1 is was 20 in December. She has a responsible job requiring early starts so has altered her habits. She has 4 days off over this weekend and went out on Saturday with her friendship group and had a 'good' time. She didn't come home but is now suitably responsible to telephone me to tell me she left her phone at home and to leave alternative contact numbers. 2 years ago this would have been a warzone. I am so relieve that she now realises that I don't want to ruin her life I just need to know she is safe. At the end of the day I think the family values we have instilled in the previous 20 years are starting to show promise.:D

I had a lovely spa day yesterday. Today I travelled miles to my nephew's birthday 4th birthday party. HE IS LOUD!!!!! I have suggested to my sister that she needs to temper his volume before school in September. She laughed and told me it was the school's job. I told her that the teacher had to teach the curriculum - it didn't go down well!!!! This is the same sister that is expecting another baby in May and is obessed with working in China so she hasn't applied for a place for her school aged child.

I really try not to bombabard my siblings with parenting knowledge (I've only had 5) but I did suggest to her it's alot easier to apply for a place and not take it than to try and get one when they've all been allocated. She lives in a large new town and there are plenty of schools in her area - some betther than others. By not applying she will get the school that nobody else wants. I really am bewildered by her apathy.

Sorry for rambling but I had to get it out somehow!
