Friend's Ford Puma had a flat battery this week, so much so the remote locking wouldn't work and we needed assess to the battery in the engine bay. Took another friend less than a minute to break into the car and release the bonnet catch switch.
He says that owners of new cars are in two minds when he gets into their new £50k Audi in under a minute using a small inflatable bag, an old water bottle and a length of metal when they are locked out!0 -

Found this thread, love it!
Anyway, I thought the same about my brown Montego, but one day it wasn't there...
Shame, because for £250, once I'd blown out the run-flat metric tyres on the motorway and got some more traditional wheels
it kept going and going. I can't do mechanicals, but it was so simple repairs were cheap.
Other bangers included a £600 Rover 420 diesel (porous alloys, gave it away by mistake 2 years later when I should have fixed it - no real repair costs in those two years), a Lancia Dedra (£500. Got to know all the Little Chefs on my commutes so I could break down in relative comfort!) and a £900 Mazda 626 (loved that car, nothing went wrong. Scrapped it for £250 only because Iinherited a newer car... a Mitsubishi Colt that I've come to this thread because I was wanting to replace it, but am now thinking that given it works, why on earth would I!)0 -

I thought mine were too. About 30 mins using WD40 and patiently moving the key got them freed up.worried_jim wrote: »The barrel's are shafted. He normally leaves it unlocked.
It's a £500 banger which just flew through its MOT yesterday.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
