I'm worried that not washing it depreciates the car in some way?peter_the_piper wrote: »Once a year, a few weeks before her MOT.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth

It does, but then again I get snow off mine with the yardbrush.0 -

If you are a real money saver you run your cars until they are not economical to repair then you sell them on.

I'm guessing 1-2 buckets wash, and again to rinse?
But what with? What cloths/detergents do you use? To not spoil the paintwork?
If my son who used to spend hours on his was here I could tell you exactly but I think it's something to do with having a bucket to wash the cloth in before dunking it back into the one with the washing solution in so you aren't getting the water filthy and full of grit.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -

I want to preserve the look as long as I can. I don't want it to rust at all.
That makes it sound like a good car instead of a normal one. I wish . :rotfl:
I normally use the hand car wash in Kidderminster each week as I have a black car which looks dirty very easily. In addition, it's an estate so the tailgate gets filthy in next to no time so if the car isn't washed my hands get dirty every time I open the back.
Once every couple of months in winter I also take it to the ARC carwash and have the fiver wash which also does the underside and so gets rid of all that caked on roadsalt.
Add to that a good wax every six months (October and April) keeps the paintwork looking top notch."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

I only worked out once I got rid of my silver-grey car that having a car that colour was a very good idea.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Yes, a silver car is the best if you want a car that doesn't show the dirt."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
My car only gets washed when BP has the 50p car wash offer on.:rotfl:0

I bought my car brand new in 2008 at the end of February. I washed it the week before last.
Actually, I didn't wash it at all. One of the lads at work took my keys and washed it for me:o.I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.
