  • Being serious its cleaning the inside I really hate. Living in the country its hard to keep this clean too. Whats the best thing to clean the interior plastics, especially the bits where the kids put their feet as they get in and out?
I use Autoglym Rubber and Vinyl car inside. I go over it first with hot water and a damp chamois to get the dirt / dust off. I usually spray the AG on to a micorfibre, wipe over the surfaces and then buff it off as this leaves a matt finish. One treatment usually lasts 2 to 3 months and muddy shoe marks wipe off quite easily.
  • I take mine to the local illegal immigrants only charge £10 for a full valet and do a cracking job :D

    Twice a year is enough

I'm guessing 1-2 buckets wash, and again to rinse?

But what with? What cloths/detergents do you use? To not spoil the paintwork?

old dish cloth fairy liquid then finished off with mr sheen and if you want to clean alloys use mr muscle;)

I take mine to the Slovakians and for £14 they do inside and out brilliantly, I go once a year, usually in the spring. I may stick it through the car wash on a £5 special once a month throughout the summer but never in the winter. I find that these hand wash place that are everywhere now are very good value and do an excellent job to boot.

Every March before it's MOT. If I'm feeling extra generous I'll whack in a new air freshener as well!
  • I wash mine as it gets dirty - this time of year it could be as often as once a week. Cleaning your car is just basic maintenance really. You can always tell a car that hasn't been washed enough as the paintwork goes very dull. A car can be the second most expensive thing people buy - I cant understand why people would abuse something they've spent so much money on.

    30p cheaper here. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Meguiars-Luxurious-Lambs-Wool-Wash/dp/B001G1FTX0/ref=pd_cp_d_2

Parker cleans mine (car:p) once a week or when showing the odd bit of soiling, whichever comes first!
The Meguiars mitts have lambswool one side and a special non abrasive surface on the reverse, mainly for insect removal, which does works quite well.
