  • I always think if people can't be bothered to keep the car clean ............... imagine what their underpants (if they wear them) are like :eek::eek: Reason behind this theory .... don't ask !

You don't feel embarrased in any way if you give people lifts in your filthy car? If you use taxis/minicabs, you're not bothered if it's dirty outside, and you're sitting in the mess possibly left behind by previous customers?

Nope, why would I? The dirt is outside not inside. If the person getting a lift has an issue they can always walk ;)

As I say, you make sweeping judgements. You don't know me, you haven't seen my car yet you assume that because I'm not anal over its cleanliness then that must reflect on my own personal cleanliness. Well, here's the thing, you don't know me, you don't know if my car does 10 miles a week or a thousand so you can't possibly say what a years dirt looks like. Do I garage my vehicle? Is it left outside? Is that road a main road? Again all factors that will affect.

Never assume, never judge without the full facts or it can leave you looking rather silly.

Not washed mine since November, won't wash it until Mid-March...... Just not worth the effort with all the crap on the roads from winter. It'd be dirty again within a few days......

The inside is spotless, it remains spotless all year round, I don't use my car as a mobile lounge/diner and any dirt/mud easily removed from the genuine VX floor mats.

    Lidl mats for me.

It gets genuine VX parts, but I don't give a monkeys what I wipe my feet on. If anyone sees them and doesn't like Lidl, they can always walk as Pulliptears says.

I didn't think anyone bought those things at six times the price of normal mats.

Well, if some dumb sh*t wants to pay full dealership price, that's up to them. :rotfl:
Got mine for less than £25..... Main benefit being they're cut for the car and they use the original mat fixing studs, so they don't ride about and get jammed up behind the pedals. They're easy to clean because they're coated in something or other and they're anti-static, just smash them up against the nearest wall a few times and they're clean.
Couldn't really give a damn about the little plastic Vauxhall badges though.

Haven't washed the Hilux in months, but then 4x4s are supposed to be dirty.

On the other hand the MR2 gets pampered, polished and hoovered when she emerges from the garage.

Got my done this morning at the local hand wash centre. Four Polish lads did a brilliant job, inside and out, for £10. Life's too short to do this sort of thing yourself.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

The way I see it, why pay someone to do something that you could do for yourself?
Besides, cleaning your car yourself gives you chance to inspect it more closely, to notice scratches that could turn to rust, to check the tyre's over, etc etc etc.......

An hour of time you could be wasting watching TV/Soaps, to save hours of time spent at work, earning the £200+ you'll need to fix that scratch you didn't notice until it'd rusted through the door panel OR the £2500 per tyre (and 3 points) for not noticing they were below the legal limit.
