Fred it is + 0.5 lb this week. I am ok with that, it was the pub lunch and large slab of choccy cake last week - but it was oh so good.

Got to get my food head back on. Wedding (not mine) in 9 weeks and would love to be a size smaller.

A 1lb gain for me this week Fred. Not surprised as overindulged at the wedding last weekend and also out for lunch with a friend on Monday.

    67.9 kg today. That's - 0.3 kg on a week ago.

However, I've been up, and down, and up, and down....over these many months.

    Hey Everyone,

I've lost 0.5 lbs this week. Quite surprised as I've been ill so have barely moved, and have even eaten takeaway twice as I didn't have the energy to cook! I managed 45 mins of dancing on fri before I got ill, and I'm hoping to take the kids to the park later (fingers crossed the weather stays nice!) so that should burn a few cals too.

Frodo - Good to hear it's harder than they make out. They make it seem so easy that I wondered if it might be a bit too easy! May have to look into joining now :)

Robm - when I calorie count I just use a notepad and pen. I leave them out in the kitchen and just jot it all down to keep me on track. I find it easier to just read the labels and tot it up as I go along rather than fiddling around going online and searching for foods. Food focus/fitnesspal/etc do get a bit quicker if you persist with them, but if you're short of time it may make life easier to do it 'the old fashioned way' ;).
As for the calories burnt during exercise, I'd say that Food Focus would be more accurate than the rowing machine as it will account for your weight when calculating it, rather than just giving a standard 'one size fits all' measurement, as most machines tend to. Sports Active gives a pretty reliable estimate of how many cals you've burnt though - I've got a heart rate monitor which is pretty accurate, and have found that the reading are usually pretty similar :).

How these Wednesdays seem to come round fast at the moment!

margaretclare - at least it's a loss. Are you fully back to doing Dukan again? I don't know if it would apply to you, but when I've done previous diet plans, the advice I got when I found I'd got 'stuck', despite sticking steadfast to the healthy eating, and exercised, was to make changes to what I ate for my regular meals, within the plan. So, to have a something different from the norm for breakfast and my lunch in particular, as the body seems to get used to what you have, and giving it a surprise can be a good trigger to get the weightloss going again.

Jess & jane, it sounds like it was worth the tiny gains for the meals out you had.

Glad to report a -2lb loss this week, which isn't bad considering I had a chinese meal last week. I'm off out with my sisters this w/end for a meal, so will try to choose sensibly to limit any damage. I don't want to dent my progress too much, as I'm only a few lbs away now from hitting my 2 stone loss target & hope it doesn't elude me for long. *fingers crossed*

Good luck to everyone weighing in today.

  • Evening everyone :D

I am reporting a 1Lb Loss This week thanks Fred :A
Would have been more but went away at weekend and had lots of nice food that just jumped off the table and into my mouth
I seem to be my own worst enemy at the moment, but I have a lot of things going on in my life and I can see myself turning back to food again which has been my problem in the past :( So I am trying to get back into running instead but i am finding it very hard!

Fred can I also add 47km walking this week, 6km running, 2 1/2 hrs climbing and 1 hr swimming to my eurovision challenge. (I'm shattered just looking at that list!)

Frodo - I had a look at the Gymophobics website and looks good. Trouble is I live in Devon and their closest gym according to their website is in Kidderminster :rotfl: That is even too far for me to consider travelling too!! Glad you are enjoying it though

Vix - Glad you had a good holiday, it sounds like you are in a good place at the moment :)

Sary - Good loss this week and I have my fingers crossed for your 2 stone mark very soon. I don't know how you manage to make such lovely cakes and loose weight

Robm - As Far as your rowing machine calorie difference and food focus calorie difference, unless you told your rowing machine your weight ect.... it will prob give an average calorie burn, whereas food focus would be the average calorie burn for your height, weight and BMI etc so a little more specific for you. I hope that makes sense?

Lolly - hope your feeling better

Going to persevere on this calorie counting, but I still have a question. These are my foodfocus figures for Monday :-

    Calories eaten 841
    less exercise calories- 172
    Net calories 669
    Net calorie goal 1532
    Normal calories burnt2532
    Difference -1863
    Approx weight lost: 0.53lb (0.24kg)
I think I must have not entered something right, as I sure I ate more than 841cals. Plus, is 669 a bit low, should I be aiming to reach the 1532?
My other concern is, in a few weeks I will be going on holiday to Portugal, and certainly won't be doing any calorie counting, so my stats on foodfocus won't give a true reflection on my weight loss/gain.
