    Hi Samantha,

Welcome to our lovely thread. Join in to get maximum benefit. There is an optional weekly Weigh In each Wednesday, which our resident star Fredsnail compiles. If you want to join in with that, just PM her your starting weight, and then at some point before Wednesday evening post any loss/STS - stay the same/gain, and she'll put it on the chart.

There's also a monthly 5lb challenge, and invariably an exercise and weightloss challenge running alongside that too (just search back for Fredsnail's post last Wednesday to see what the current one is).

As for suggestions for diets, and diet sheets. What kind of diet are you looking for? One where you want to count calories, want to weigh your foods, have low carbs, etc? Or maybe you have a healthy appetite, so need to have a plan where you have plenty of 'free' foods to keep you satisfied?

There's plenty of us here all doing lots of different plans, from Slimming World, Weight Watchers, Dukan, Atkins, Low Carb, very low calorie... you name it, we're doing it! Some of us are just concentrating on upping exercise, maintaining weightloss, or using that to shed pounds and keep trim.

Personally, at the moment I'm doing a very low carb diet, as I was finding I was suffering with a lot of starchy foods, and it was really playing havoc with my tummy. I've felt so much better since, and the bonus is that I've lost several pounds into the bargain. I've also done Slimming World before and found that was more like eating normal, healthy food. Essentially, if you cut out any of the rubbish, processed stuff, and high sugar foods, you'll find the pounds seem to melt away for most of us.

Give us an idea of how you want to approach your weightloss journey, and you're guaranteed that we'll be here to support you along the way.

Hi guys, hope everyone is well.

0.5lb loss for me this week. Not brilliant but at least its going in the right direction again.

I joined Gymophobics yesterday and did 30 mins of resisted tension workout!

I have been unable to rejoin my regular bootcamp since I got home, as she won't let anyone join once a new term has started. I really miss bootcamp but not the weather!

As for euro challange well i did some Wii estimated 196 calories burned (hula, step, rythym parade etc i can get you all the stats if u need them or is just the calories burned enough?) also done some walking not sure how far but both times was at a moderate pace pushing my two youngest kids in pushchair and lots of up and down hills. friday 20mins, Monday was about an hour, Tuesday about 70mins. Hope i don't make things too hard for you Fred!

    Morning

I've actually lost some weight this week! 2lb loss please Fred. I'm now 13.2lbs. I've been a bit stricter with myself - I just need to keep going...

I walked 3 km yesterday and another 2 km today so total is now 13km. I haven't looked up where I've got to - I'll keep it as a surprise! I didn't go swimming yesterday due to a stupid sore throat but I think I'll go tomorrow whatever.

Hope everybodys had a good week.

    Afternoon all

I've managed to STS again this week. I'm actually not too disappointed with that as the last few weeks has been pretty stressful. It was Mum's funeral yesterday, and of course it rained when we were graveside, but it all went off very well. Now that is over I feel like I can move on so I'm focussed again and hoping the scales show a loss next Monday.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

    Afternoon,

Glad to hear your mum's send off went as well as can be expected Lois.

Some decent losses coming in today, and never knock a STS guys, it's not a gain!

Pleased to see things shifting a bit again for me here, and reporting a -3lb loss.

I'm eating in/out tonight (takeaway at a friend's), and the request from the friend is for Chinese food, which I'm charged with ordering/collecting. It will be my first major deviation from diet focussed food in over 2 months, so I am hoping it doesn't undermine my efforts by too much, and know to expect a bit of water retention for a few days, as they add a lot of salt to the dishes. Aim to attempt to combat that with lots of water.

  • Ok so the damage ....... Fred can you put me down for a 7lb Gain please  I knew the damage was bad but that is not what I hoped for

Oh well it came off before I can get it off again! So from today I am back on foodfocus logging my every morsel, no more birthday treats that is over now. Also back off the alcohol as Eric used to say just dead calories! (I miss Eric )
Also can you add 38km walking and 5km running to my eurovision challenge please :D
Finally got my bottom moving this week but I think dietwise the damage is already done. So down with the calorie intake and cont the exercise and hope to see a loss next week.

Well done to the losers this week and keep up the good work :T

Sary - Hope you enjoy your meal out/in and you don't suffer too much in the morning. I also know what you mean about the Garden ours is looking terrible but have to keep putting it off due to rain.

Lois - Glad all went well (shame about the appalling weather) Hope you can send some motivation my way too :D

Vix - belated happy holidays, I'm sure the Bikini is fine. Besides does anyone really look ?

Frodo - what is gymophobics? I think I know but could you explain please ?

Gymophobics is a new type of exercise that uses resistance while you exercise, and helps strengthen and tone muscles and burns fat. I don't personaly know anyone who has done it as its quite new.

I had my induction yesterday and I have to say I was really impressed with the results of ladies I spoke to, and what they had achieved. They all seemed really happy with their weight losses and how easy it was.

It is a women only gym and open to all ages. There are ten pieces of equipment and the idea is to spend 3 minutes on each one, so your workout is done in 30 minutes.

I will keep you posted on how it goes. I have posted a link as this will esplain better than I can.
