Only another half a wee pound this week.
I am a tad dispirited ~ all that effort for a measly 1/2 lb.
I really cant afford to keep going to the blipping class anymore either.
    Bah.Is all.

    Hi Beanie (((hugs)))

You know you're going to hear all the usual phrases, 'a loss is a loss' etc, and it is true, but it's also hard to keep going when the results aren't as good as you'd like them to be. It's okay to be dispirited, and it's okay to have a rant about it on here - we all know where you're coming from.

You also need to remind yourself how well you've done and give yourself a pat on the back, then think about what you could do differently. Try eating different foods, look for new recipes, drink more water. We can all be guilty of getting into a rut by having the same meals every week and it might help to mix things up a bit.

The thing to remember is that bodies don't always do what we think they should do, so although you might be doing all the right things, your body reacts by hanging onto calories in case there's a famine.

Maybe you're trying TOO hard!? Sometimes it does you good to relax for a day. You could decide that for one day each week you are just going to eat normal meals, no weighing, counting etc, just sensible, healthy food that you enjoy.

Without trying to make you feel bad, but to put things in perspective, I've stayed the same for 2 weeks, you've lost 1/2lb for 2 weeks, so you've lost 1lb more than I have. Either of us could have gained instead, but we didn't.

You may be able to get help to continue the slimming club - not sure if this applies to you, but someone here mentioned that you can get membership on prescription if your BMI is over 30.

    Stay positive.

    68.0 kg today. That's + 0.3 kg from a week ago.

    Not good news.

Things are a bit hectic at the mo, not really keeping up with things on the site, and diet isn't going as well this week either.

    It's a 3 lb loss though :D

Fred, I'll just do the 5 lb a month challenge this time please.

Just a 1/4 lb loss for me this week please Fred. I seem to be getting very good at maintaining my weight  If only I could lose another 3 stone first it would be great.

Beanie, I agree it does get you down at times when the weight doesn't seem to want to shift. I just have to keep telling myself that this is a lifestyle change and that even if the weight isn't coming off the healthier food and exercise is making me fitter. My BP is now normal and I no longer feel continually hungry (which I am convinced was a sign that I was insulin resistant and on the way to diabetes)

Gym closed over the Easter holiday, which is a bit frustrating - but I suppose everyone needs a break.

Have got a temp job delivering poll cards over the next few days, so hopefully all of the walking will get the weight moving again.

6 miles for me so far this month please Fred.

Good luck with the weight loss everyone x

PS - took the dog out for a walk last night and decided to jog it - half way my trousers fell down - :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: It was a good thing it was dark and I had my coat on. Think it is about time to throw out all of last years clothes.

    Hi all

One of my facebook friends lives in Yorkshire and has snow today! Hope the weather where you are is being kind.

Fred - STS for me again this week. I did 2 hours of linedancing on Monday and walked 4km yesterday.

I set myself a target with a deadline of 18th April which is when I return to the UK, and I've still got 5lbs to lose to achieve it, which is going to need a minor miracle at this rate. Going out to dinner tonight too, so hopefully there'll be dancing opportunities afterwards to help burn off a few calories. We'll walk there and back too, which is 2km.

    Catch you later.

Oh dear, never thought of that :rotfl:

5 1/2 hours walking today delivering pollcards. Not sure what that is in miles Fred, but do know I am shattered. Just had to have a nice hot bath to defrost my hands and feet - so cold, hard to believe it is April. Would be pleased about the amount of calories used, but unfortunately had to 'avail myself of the facilities in McDonalds' and couldn't resist a burger and chips :o
