I decided to join and uploaded my workout and food eaten for today. It's now showing remaining calories for today: 1,671cals.

Now, what happens if I don't finish these? I can't even gorge on junk as I've given these up for lent :rotfl:

Pass any unwanted calories to me Matryoshka, I will know what to do with them :rotfl:

Feeling left out now - my phone is very basic, it doesn't do aps.

Another 1 hour Boxercise for me today please Fred. The gym was so warm came out feeling shattered. An early night for me I think.

    Morning all,

Just checking back in again to see how you're all doing.

Well done with SOTW Alliwant, that's a rather impressive loss this week.

I'm another 2lb lighter this week, which is a relief, because I've struggled a bit with staying on plan. The biggest thing for me is to keep avoiding all the 'beige' food, which usually contains lots of wheat or fat. Despite hating her with a passion, those tables of carp food Gillian McKeith used to lay out for dieters that were laden with bread, crisps, pasties, chips, etc. it was really colourless.

The food I'm eating now has actually helped my tummy to settle down, as I used to suffer quite a lot with dodgy guts, whereas now it is completely calm, and I feel better for it. I've snuck a bit of meat & cheese in on a couple of occasions, and I've known I've done it. I have my green veggies with 2 meals a day and they don't have any negative effect, whereas in the past I'd have blamed them after a roast dinner. Just goes to show that my insides are less tolerant than I thought they were to sugar/wheat. I still salivate and long for a huge piece of tiger bread though :/

I think it was Fishhawks asked about the HCG diet, and I'd not heard of it before, so had a look online. From what I can see it's a very low calorie diet (VLCD), and you take a few HCG drops a day. I knew that hCG is usually referring to Human Chroionic Gonadtropin, which is the hormone the body produces when you are pregnant, and that it can also be detected in the body when cancers are present. To my initial thinking, anything that places the pregnancy hormone in the body, as part of a diet can't be right. I have never been keen on putting artificial hormones in my body (hence I have 4 kids!:rotfl:) but then I did another search and found this on Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_chorionic_gonadotropin

There are plenty of other VLCD's out there, some with the addition of counsellors and monitoring like Lighter Life or Cambridge Diet, if that's the route you want to go down. I believe you need to have a BMI over 30, and to have approval from your Dr usually to do them. I have a friend who has done them a couple of times, and she loses the weight very successfully, but keeping it off is harder, as the issues with food and over-eating remain if you don't work hard at assessing your relationship with food. I see it as the equivalent of her going back into an abusive relationship every time she comes out of the refuge of the VLCD. Only you know what's right for you, and they can be the route to a fast weightloss, that stays with them for life, and they do change their eating habits afterwards as a result.

I'm not going to commit to doing any of the challenges, but I will try to keep popping back in to see you all a bit more.

Beanie, well done on another half lb and getting out on that trike. Have you felt the benefits of the warmer weather this week? Shame it looks like being much colder for us all next week :(

It's tough doing a strict diet when you're making cakes all the time, I can tell you! Off to make a madeira sponge now.... a nightmare when you can't lick the spoon or bowl anymore!!

    New month, new start ahead!

congratulations Alliwantistosave. Great loss and sotw!

Thanks everyone. You are all really kind. It is just I didnt realise quite how much i needed to loose till i started. I guess you fool yourself a bit into thinking things sren't that bad.

Loving the app. Tho perhaps a little obsessed with it already lol.

I will try the 5lb challange again please FS and put me in easter bunnies group tho not sure how i will do next month as starting it with a holiday but nice to have something to aim for. Hopefully a few days of eating non diet food wont damage my progress too much and will help improve my motivation after! will try not to be too bad but sure there are bound to be a couple of alcoholic drinks and a takeaway/fast food restaurant or two in there somewhere.

Weigh in tonight but don't think this week has gone too great but we will see, i need to dig some more of my flower garden so hopefully that will help. Will log my weigh in tonight or tomorrow for this week.

Hope everyone has a good week everyone!

I'd like to be an Easter Bunny please Fred, and I'd also like to join in the 5lb challenge and the marathon - I'll aim for the whole thing, although I'm not sure what I'll be doing exercise-wise after this month.

    Have a good week everyone.
