Hey weigh in went well again. Lost 4.5lb. Total loss is now 26lb only 2lb off 2stone which is my aim for next week, especially as taking kids on holiday to Devon for a few days 1st week of Easter hols (2nd - 6th april) bound to go a bit off rails, likely to be icecreams, takeaway/fast food restaurants and alcohol. Can't kids away without spoiling ourselves a little tho so hopefully it wont do too much damage as we will probably also be doing lots of walking and swimming!
Good luck everyone!0 -
Hey Everyone,
Thanks Beanie and AlliwantIt looks like I got rid of all of our unwanted 'visitors' :j DS1's step mum will check this weekend so if there are any still lurking, she will catch them.
I've gone low carb again! I'm on day 4, was considering it for a while but I now think I'm in a position to be able to do it again. I've got to be really strict with myself, as it only works for me if I go really low carb (50g a day max, but usually more like 30-40g), and if I exercise a lot, and every day. But as long as I stick to it, it works really well, and I feel so much better for it - so I'm feeling quite positive at the moment. I've lost 3 lbs since I started, hoping for a couple more before weigh in next week.

Hi all
Fred - you missed me off the chart this week, I lost 1lb. Don't worry about updating it, I'm happy for it to be included next week. Thanks as usual.
Lissarria - well done for being SOTW again this week, you're doing really well. :T If you don't mind me asking, how much do you want to lose?
Well, tracking and exercising have gone out the window this week, and they've been replaced with eating rubbish and drinking too much. We exchanged caravans with someone, and if you think moving house is stressful, try emptying all your possessions out onto a pitch, taking down the awning, swapping vans, putting up an unfamiliar awning, and then trying to find homes for all the stuff from the first (larger) caravan!
It's taken us 3 days so far. We're getting there, but still have a pile in the awning that needs to be re-homed or sold.
Back to healthy food today.
Have a good week everyone.

I don't do low carb, but I try to stick to 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fat - so that means that I do experiment with low carb meals. This is what I had for my lunch today after my workout:
I made a 'wrap' out of a two egg omelette, with was just two large eggs, some pepper and paprika. I then let it cool and filled it with raw spinach, wafer thin chicken, roast red peppers and some grated mature cheddar, then wrapped it all up! It was really, really good.

I've heard of that ratio before, is it a 'Zone' style diet? The wrap sounds lovely - it's a really interesting recipe, not something I could have thought of! Think I'll have to try that at some point

No, I'm not following any specific diet - I've just read from a number of sources that it is a good ratio to aim for. I really struggle to get enough protein in my diet, so 30% is a good goal to aim for, I think.
I hope you enjoy the wrap if you try it0 -

I can't imagine eating a burger without chips - lol. Even whilst I have been losing weight I have made the occasional visit to McDonalds and enjoyed it without too much damage.
I am really surprised you have a problem with your weight Margaretclare as you seem to have a small appetite and be very sensible about what you eat.
I am surprised about it too. Or rather, not so much that I had a weight problem to start with, but that it is proving sooooo difficult to lose it. I was on the way up to 13 stone about 10 years ago and am now down to 10 1/2, which is too much for my height. I'm still officially 'obese'.
I've occasionally had a cheeseburger. I recall one that I had in a windy car-park outside Calais when we were on a coach trip from the Rhine to catch the ferry back, and it wasn't possible to stop for lunch because we had to get to the hypermarket. While everyone was buying cheap booze and fags we headed for some wooden buildings where French entrepreneurs were cooking. That cheeseburger was one of the best foods I've ever eaten - 'hunger is the best sauce' is certainly true.
I may have a strange outlook, but at the time I visited Florida I was in the middle of discovering a lot of things about family history that really were 'stranger than fiction'. What I did want to see while I was there was the Space Centre on the coast, and that was fascinating. All the history of all the Apollo missions, and the wildlife on that site - a big old alligator and a bald eagle which nests in the same tree every year.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.
