Another 4 miles for me yesterday. Not a very pleasant walk as my DD's dog was attacked by 2 other dogs whilst out. Was quite worried about him for the rest of the day, but he seems to be OK today.

I am loving this weather - did a bit of gardening over the weekend and hoping to get the bike out of the shed later today. It seems so much easier to be active when the sun shines.

Hello, Im new here and I'm ready to try lose some weight aaaaagain.

Ive downloaded an app to my phone and Im finding it useful for tracking, so Im going to try this to see if it makes me stick to it the way going to a class would but without me having to pay.

I was looking on t'internet and saw 'Burn the fat, feed the muscle' mentioned a lot and wondered if anyone had tried it? Ive looked at reviews but they all look like adverts for it which makes me doubt the whole thing.

It just sounds a bit different than what Ive tried (and failed at) before, but of course they dont really tell you what it actually IS....they want you to buy it, which I suppose is fair enough, but if anyone had any knowledge or experience of this it would help me part with my 40 dollars lol....(or not!)

    Thanks in advance, F x

Welcome to the thread Fabulass! :j

I've never heard of that diet plan, but to me, the name suggests that it is a low carb (burn the fat), high protein (feed the muscle) diet. I've quickly googled it and it looks pretty dodgy :(. Not only as they won't tell you a thing about it, but also because all of the so called 'truth' and 'review' websites about it try and sell you the diet - they all seem to have those little spam boxes come up when you try and leave the page, asking you to buy it... so they were probably created by the people trying to sell the diet!

If I were you, I would not pay a penny for it. I would suggest reading through some articles on other (free! :D) sites. You can trust information on http://www.bmj.com/ (British medical Journal). Weight Loss Resources http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/ also has some really interesting pieces. You can sign up for a free trial with them (you don't have to add any bank details :)), then you can spend a bit of time wandering around the site - they have a LOT of information, and cover pretty much every diet you can think of, so I'm sure you'll find something useful on there.

A friend of a friend has been on the HCG diet and has done really well, and Im wondering if I should try it, but does anyone know anything about it?

Ive dieted forever...lol, done well a couple of years ago and kept the weight off but still have weight to lose but Im stuck and dont seem to be able to motivate myself to get started again, Ive heard that the HCG curbs your appetite and you are on a low cal diet, dont plan to be on it for months, but would just like to lose some exess weight before summer

I Would appeciate anyones experience good or bad of HCG before I start

    Thanks
    Waddle you do eh?

:hello: Hey everyone, sorry I haven't checked in for a while!

Been really busy with work covering for a sick colleague and delivering lots of training offsite, but have been religiously logging my journeys hither and thither and have just sat down and worked them all out, a grand total of...

62 km and 1 session of Zumba please Fred! :j

Mostly walking and exercise bike with a bit of wave machine thrown in for good measure - haven't weighed in in a while but very pleased with the distance I've managed to cover.

Well done to all the losers and may divine thinspiration be upon everyone whose halo has slipped :A

Thanks for the lovely welcome Lolly, I was suspicious about all those glowing reviews, but after failing on so many other diets I really wondered what it was all about. So, I'll have a look around the websites you have suggested instead, thanks for that!
I actually think I might do well using the app on my phone which is more or less just a tracker, my nephew showed it to me last week....I hadnt seen him for a while and noticed right away he had lost a lot of weight, (almost 2 stone in 6 months) :T , Ive only been using it for 5 days so far and it really has encouraged me to exercise more already cos its easy to log your food ( I love scanning the barcodes) and exercise. I burnt off 502 calories walking 3 times today :A So, I reckon I should forget any online faddy nonsense and stick with calorie counting (the easy way that is...no more notepad and calorie book lol :rotfl: )

    Hey Everyone,

Just running in with a deal, will be back later to catch up and chat.

Just found this in an email, thought it might interest someone... £12 for a High Performance Heart Rate Monitor Sports Watch (worth £44.99) at GadgetQuarter.com
I love my heart rate monitor watch as it measures exactly how many calories you burn during a workout, so is great for more exact calorie counting :) Not sure how good this particular model is, but it's worth looking into as I've never seen one on sale so cheap before.

    Back later...
