Muscle weighs more and even if its not true i don't care! Sometimes its the only thing that keeps me from thinking i'm really huge! ha
  • Thanks for the support guys, sorry about my rant, even my Zumba instructor says muscle weighs more than fat.

Didn't eat myself to death yesterday lol, but i did have a nice time, back on it tomorrow, its not going to stop me, although i did feel angry, but I'm going to do the exact same exercise as last week and see what happens.

From what I understand a cup of meat (muscle) weighs more than a cup of butter (fat) so if you have more muscle you can weigh the same but be thinner.

I did a shape management programme last year where the trainer kept telling us all it didn't matter what we weighed but what size clothes we could fit into. Saying that I lost about 9lb during the 8 week course, but didn't lose any inches - how does that work?

Went for a Chinese for Mothers Day yesterday, woke up today 4lb heavier :eek:I am hoping it is just water retention and will go before weigh in day on Wed.

Anyway treated myself to these -

Not that I am becoming obsessed with my weight or anything - lol :D
  • Hi hope you don't mind me joining this - I'm a slimming world member past month and on average have lost 2-3 lb per week and have loved it. Went a bit awol at weekend due to being off work and can honestly say although it was nice at the time I am so regretful now. I am revved back up and ready for slimming world again. Am a bit worried about my weigh in though as I know I will hopefully have maintained and dread if I put a lb back on. I don't want to set myself back again as Ilove the buzz of having weight off. Any tips for getting back on?

Also I have fat free fromage frais in fridge am a loss what to do with it, any ideas for sauces etc?

Hi josie, you'll be fine! Even if you do put a lb on it wont be the end of the world. Half a stone and i'd start to worry, a lb, not so much!

I've not being doing too badly this week, but i've been working lots (for a change) and not eating very well :/ Hopefully my gym workout tomorrow will be good! Gotta keep thinking of my holiday!

Jess: Nice scales! They look groovy. I guess they tell you all you need to know about what's inside!

Hi I've had 2lb on so a real kick up the behind to get it together from now on- the bottle of wine was definitely the culprit along the the Mother'sDay cake (how could I refuse a cake by my little men). Thanks for your help

    Hello All, remember me?

Just had a quick look at the new thread, and checking in to see how you're all doing.

Very impressed with Beanie's progress, way to go!

I'd got back to square 1 weight wise, so have embarked on a new regime, which is very strict, but should give me results faster than if I was just bumbling along doing my own thing. It isn't something that would suit everyone, but I feel it's right for me at this moment in time.

So far, so good, and I'm -8lb. I've a long way to go still, and have set myself the scary target of getting into a healthy BMI range. That's no mean feat.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hi, and let you all know I think of you often, and read the thread updates when I can. I'll try to pop in more often to keep up with you all more. I do miss this thread, it's one of the nicest there's ever been on MSE :D

    Hey Everyone! :hello:

Welcome to the thread Josie! :j

Ms Night Ryder - Try not to let gains get you down - weight tends to go up and down a bit each day, so you were probably just having an 'up day', and have gone back down now :). If you've had a really good week then it will show on the scales... it may just take a little longer.
I bet you'll have a good loss this week to make up for it :)

Well I had a lovely holiday - too much food, but also too much exercise, lol! By the end of the first day my feet were starting to blister all over (even on the soles of my feet!), I woke up the next morning and everything from my waist down ached - we didn't stop though :). I've been back on the Ibuprofen every day with my sprained foot anyway, so they helped keep me going over the next few days. I was in agony though, lol, and have only just recovered!

The food was disgusting :(. The money saver in me refused to carry on spending £35+ for the two of us each mealtime to buy decent food, but even the cheapest food (a meal deal each of something like a hot dog, chips and drink) was over £15!!! Luckily we took some fruit and snacks, and there is a petrol station that's only a couple of minutes walk from the hotel, so we could get sandwiches and things rather than keep settling for junk. The food does seem to have affected my weight though as I weighed in 4.5 lbs heavier on sat :(. I was down to 3.5 lbs today, so hopefully it'll be water retention or something and will come off soon.

Fred - Not sure how much the exercise can contribute to the challenge, but we were out before 8am each morning, and were walking around for most of the day, not getting back until at least 8pm each night.

Going to spend tomorrow sorting the house out (cleaning, tidying, and decluttering) so should burn a few cals. I'll then have a good Just Dance session in the evening. I'm feeling quite motivated at the mo (starting to think about summer), hopefully it'll continue! :)

Hey Sary! :hello: Good to hear that your diet is working for you :)
