Thanks Occy, think I will give it a go. I need to add some resistance training now that I have recovered from tendonitis in my shoulder.

1 hour Tia Chi for me last night please Fred.

Yes if it's a distance one I'll do that, sometimes we do climbing challenges so that's climbing steps or stairs (you can use a wii step for those) so you'll need to log your climbs.

If anyone has any ideas for a challenge for next month please let me know.

DH doesn't record his weight on here, but I just had to tell everyone: after ages and ages struggling with his weight and not being able to get below 100 kg he's now down to 98.8 kg. That's just a whisker over 15 1/2 stones. Still too much for his height, but he's going in the right direction. For a long time he was told it was more difficult because he's a Type 2 diabetes insulin-user and use of insulin makes weight loss more difficult. However, since we've both been low-carbing he's now using about half the insulin that he was using and obviously it works. It's certainly not down to exercise - because of his knee and now the most recent, the back problem, he can't exercise at all.

We haven't missed potatoes, pasta or rice but we do still enjoy our bread from the local baker. And fruit but not bananas. And low-sugar yogurts. We still eat well!

  • I'm going to rant.

Went to weigh myself today and was really excited as i know I have worked hard, any treats I've had have been within my calorie allowance plus I have done 3 classes totalling 3.5 hours and walked 6.7 miles where normally I only do 2 classes and no walking, I have put on a 1lb I'm so angry I don't understand it, I literally wanted to cry in boots, the funny thing is my bmi went down by 0.4 but i put weight on! I just want to lose weight, if i keep exercising like this, it just means I will get bigger and bigger! So how do i wi., I've caught a cold from Zumba, gonna go to my grandmas party and eat myself to death I'm so annoyed.

Rant over, sorry guys, now off to have a bloody cry

You're supposed to overeat one day a week. Strange but true. Try to go over your calorie allowance next week and see how it goes. And are you eating enough calorie's for the exercise you do?

    Don't be disheartened.

Eat at your grandma's party and take it as your overeating day ;)

It might be because you're gaining muscle - which in the long term will enable you to lose weight more easilly.

Weight loss is a marathon not a sprint - it's a minor blip on a long road. You've done fantastically so far so don't get too dispondant over 1 gain - you might more than make up for it next week.

Not according to my fat class person.
She tells us every couple of week that muscle weighs more.
