Well I really seem to be losing the plot - eating rubbish and have only been to the gym once this week.

Lolly - are you still doing the 5:2 diet? I have read that this really helps some people to control their eating, even on their 'feast' days. How are you finding it? I am considering trying a 'fast' day tomorrow just to see whether I can do it. Think I will head over to Food Focus to see what you can eat for 500 cals a day

OK, have been to Food Focus and planned tomorrows meals

    Breakfast - 2 egg plain omelet - 168 cals
Lunch - green salad / cottage cheese - 128 cals
Salmon fillet - green beans, spinach and carrots - 230 cal
Drinks - green tea / water

    Total - 526 cals

    Wish me luck :)

    Hiya

That's not too bad, I think I could survive one day with that amount of food as there are 3 proper meals there. Let us know how you find it.

    Hi Guys,

I've been having trouble sleeping again (it happens every once in a while :() so have been really run down and have been catching every bug in sight - not fun! So I've been trying to keep up with the thread but not really posting. Starting to come round a bit now so hoping to jump back in soon. I've been starting to watch my cals again but haven't had any starvation days as I feel bad enough as it is, so don't need any extra hassle.

Jess - Yes, I will still be doing it, I think I'm going to try and get back into it this week. I've found that you seem to eat loads the day after a fast, but if you work out the cals it's only about 10-15% more than you normally would have, it just seems a lot after having so little the day before!
I agree that your eating becomes a little more stable when on the diet, and it does slow your appetite. I do find that it is a conscious decision to eat in moderation though - as I don't want to undo the fast day's hard work. Then again, I do have a pretty messed up relationship with food, so probably think about it more than most people! :o:mad::(
Your meal plan sounds fab :) Some of my fave fast day foods are: porridge, eggs, soup, and fish, as they're all pretty low cal and filling. Then if you pile up the veg and salad with meals and it feels like you're eating lot! Extra fluids and sugar free sweets can also help get you through the day. Also, if you feel like you need a snack - fruits like blueberries and things, or my fave - pomegranates, give you something to nibble on for a while, for minimal cals.
That's about all I can think of at the mo, hope it helps.
The first day is tough, but once you've done it you feel so liberated that the next fast days (if you carry on) do get a lot easier. Good luck with it :)

Fred - Can you please add 31 km to the challenge please! That's been building up from all of the extra walking I've been doing due to the crazy weather!

Been to the gym today for my induction, had a really nice guy helping me, he asked me what I enjoyed, and what I wanted to have a go at, rather than telling me to do stuff I don't like!

I am going to keep up with my 30 day shred, and try and fit in gym 2-3 times a week too.

Anyway, the really good news was that he weighed me and I have lost 1.6kg this week - I am buzzing :-) (that is a total loss of 2.5kg !)

Edited to add, I did a measure of all the lumpy bumpy bits when I got home, and have lost a total of 23cm - I am so chuffed!

Well so far so good. After reading a bit more about the benefits of fasting (Eat, Stop, Eat) I decided to not eat anything until teatime (5.50 p.m.)

Kept myself busy, bought lots of fruit teas and didn't find it too difficult. The worst time was lunch time but the hunger did subside a little by about 2 pm.

Now need to decide which other day this week to fast. Tempted to do a workday as less time to think about it (I only work part time) but a bit worried that it might make me a bit irritable. Also, don't really want to do the weekend - decisions ;)

Good luck at the gym Tupperware-Queen.

Thanks. The biggest surprise to me is that I am enjoying my healthier diet (not so many choccie cravings as I feared) AND enjoying the exercise...every other time I have tried to lose weight it has been a chore and I have hated it....hoping this is my epiphany!!
