Well, i've had to have a couple of days off the exercise as I literally couldn't walk up the stairs yesterday. I did manage 2 and a half hours of housework tho and walked 1 hr 20 mins yesterday. Today I've had a 30 min walk and im back on it tomorrow cause little man is off to Daddys so I can really hit it, without worrying about the school run etc. X

    Hey Guys,

SOTW! Yay, thanks for the congrats everyone :j

Vix - Yes, it's Dr Michael Mosley. He did the programme about the 5:2 diet and has just brought a book out on it. I recently found out that he is the bloke that did those '10 things you need to know' shows, I think there was one about food and one about exercise - there was chat about them on here when they came out, very interesting and lots of science behind them.

Lois - If you're considering the 5:2 diet, HERE is the Horizon programme that started it all. It doesn't focus on 5:2 until towards the end, but it covers the idea behind it all and previous research - pretty interesting.
Let me know what you think to the Paul McKenna book. Hypnotherapy seems too good to be true, so I'm a bit sceptical about the claims of how well it all works, but even if it just helps a little, then it's definitely worth the cost of a book! :j I hope you find something that works for you soon, it's horrible being in 'diet limbo'! :)

Jess - What a fab goal! :A My Dad's living with the effects of a severe stroke so it's a cause I'm in full support of. Good luck with it, I hope you do well :)

Fred - Another 4 km to add please from Free Step on the Wii fit.

Well, I had another starvation day yesterday. Ended up going over by nearly 150 cals so spent the night on the Wii fit, lol. I'm now trying to put off eating until much later in the day as I do find evenings hard, so having most of the cal allowance to play with really helps. I got to 2.30pm yesterday, but really could, and should, have gone longer. Will be starving myself on Mon now, and have food planned already so feeling pretty positive - I am NEVER this organised usually! Probably as I know that the snow is due to hit tomorrow, so I don't want to be stuck in the house with nothing suitable to eat on Mon

Going to have another power plate session now, doing it almost every day again and starting to feel better for it already :) it definitely helps that it doesn't feel that tough at the time, lol.

  • I got weighed after missing my meetings over the Christmas period, so +1.5 for me. Not anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be but I need to get back on track. I've managed to maintain my weight for almost 6 months and I still need to get down to my goal weight! :(

    Afternoon all

Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

I've spent this morning making 2 lots of soup - pea and ham which we've had for lunch and was very tasty, the other one is a hotch-potch of vegetables that needed to be used up - sweet potato, butternut squash, carrots, parsnips, peppers and onions. I might add some chicken to it later.

Just off out for a walk now so I'm going to wrap up well as it's pretty cold... brrr. I thought we'd have snow, but no sign yet and it's quite sunny.

    Catch you later!

Lolly - it is a cause close to my heart Lolly as my Mum had a stroke when she was just 52. She lived with the disabling effects of it until she died 25 years later. It is only now, when I am in my early 50's, that I realise just how devastating that must have been for her.

Did my first Couch to 5k walk / jog today. Managed it, but came home with a pain in my ankle (I think caused by the camber of the pavement) Tomorrow I should be able to get the the local running track, so hopefully that should help. Fred - can you put me down for 2 miles please.

Now, now then Beanie, you're a star in your own way, so don't forget it :A

Fred, can you add another 2.5 miles please?

I've just eaten some cheese and crackers, so not feeling very virtuous on the food front. Must try harder!
