I did OK Vix - got a 'B' - enough to get me into Uni at the time and get my degree.
I remember saying to my tutor at the time that I just didn't 'get it' (equations I think) and him telling me not to over think it, just to memorise and apply the 'rules'. Thought it was strange advice at the time - but it worked.

Thank-you Fredsnail, interesting reading there :)

Are you resetting metabolism by diet alone then? How would you know how long to do this for?

Im also looking into how cortisol affects weight. I suffered a trauma recently and my stress levels are through the roof....im jumpy, teary and even to my own ears my voice is high, tight and unnatural. I dont know if my cortisol levels will be too high now, Im trying to read and understand my own body a bit better as I want this weightloss to be sucessful after many years of trying every faddy diet under the sun and ending up heavier.

I've started doing EM2WL (Eat More to Weigh Less) - I'd been more or less STS for several months so I wanted to try to find a way to break that and start losing again.

A lot of the stuff makes sense when you read it - I've just got my fingers crossed that when I start my cut I will start to lose.

Most people who do a reset do it for 8 weeks - I extended mine because I was going away on holiday so didn't want to start my cut on holiday. Believe it or not the first 4 weeks or so are very hard to eat as much as you're supposed to after you're used to eating less calories. One thing I do know is that I feel much better, my skin is better, I have no cravings and I'm far less focused on food throughout the day.

You can find more information here:

or if you want to pm me I'll try to help.

    *shuffles in looking shifty*

Hi everyone... Hope you're all doing ok and that you've had a lovely summer so far!

It's been a while but I've been busy getting, ahem, busy... I'm 6 months pregnant! So weight loss has gone out of the window and in has come the cheese and the carbs ;)

Still I'm trying to keep active where I can, so I'd like to join in with next month's challenge to motivate myself to keep moving! I can no longer do zumba :( so at the moment I'm going to aqua robics and walking where I can instead. As I get bigger, sis is the temptation to spend my evenings on the sofa!

Well congratulations Cabby - no need to shuffle in you're amongst friends :p

This is good advice for accounts and maths exams, just learn the process - sometimes the penny will drop and you understand - but even if you get the answer wrong at the end as long as you've shown you've done the process you will get marks.

EM2WL doesn't mean that you can eat lots of rubbish though - you eat more but healthier stuff.

I forgot to answer your question if I was doing a reset by food alone - the answer is yes because if I was to add exercise in I would have to increase my calories again and I can just about cope with the amount I had to eat without exercise.

I will be doing some exercise when I start my cut.
