McJordi. Have you checked your blood sugar levels? Could be that they are going into withdrawal, maybe eat a bit of fruit when you feel them coming on, something like a banana where you have the natural sugars.

Sorry Fred, thanks for the chart as always, we've all come down with man flu here, so we're all feeling as miserable as sin! Diet is in fits and starts at the moment. Getting no where fast.

Glad to here you sold you car Lois :)
Is anyone watching the Hairy Dieters? They've been doing some great recipes - last night they made their low fat versions of chinese and indian takeaways and they looked really good. We're all probably doing most of the things they're suggesting anyway as most of it is obvious, but I think I might buy the recipe book.

I have also been watching this. I have to say I am quite shocked that they are only eating 1,200 calories, surely that isn't enough for a man. I know they need to lose the weight fast for the sake of the programme, but I think it gives out the wrong message. I am also very impressed by the young girl who has lost 12 stone, she looks fab. I would like to hear a bit more from her. The Korma recipe looked good - I think the recipes are on the website - will have a look later.

Another 1 hour Bodypump today for me. Also 10 lengths swimming and 3 mile walk please Fred.

dont know where the mc bit came from tbh but jordi is my nickname when the local shopkeeper started calling me "jordi" it kind of stuck.

Hi and welcome from another North Easterner. Sounds like you have made a great start. Have you tried your local sports centre for getting weighed. My OH prefers to get weighed when he goes to the gym there. I don't think you have to be a gym member to use the scales.

My weight for this week is a STS which I'm quite pleased with. I've had two meals out this week and am glad I haven't put any weight on.

    'Jordi' as in 'Geordie'?

Well done for a good beginning. Chocolate isn't essential - I grew up when all sweets were rationed to 4 ounces a week and at one stage that went down to 3 ounces!! No scoffing a bar of chocolate in a few minutes as happens now - that would have been it for the week! Chocolate is mainly sugar anyway, and sugar is what you need much, much less of. Having said that, we occasionally buy the very good quality chocolate just as a treat, the kind with a very high percentage of cocoa solids, but just to eat a small quantity of it at a a time.

Fizzy drinks of all kinds are very bad for us - what the Americans call 'soda'? You're much better with plain water. Having said that, we buy bottled sparkling water to take with us in the car. We're not very keen on the 'still' kind of water. At home we keep a jug of filtered tap-water in the fridge and add Robinson's 'no added sugar' fruit juice.

Takeaways of all kinds are very bad for you, quite simply because you don't know what goes into them and usually they're absolutely loaded with fats. Just concentrate on eating simple meals that you cook yourself at home, that way you know exactly what goes into them.

    Best wishes

There's been a lot going on the last year or so, and have completely lost control, am bigger than ever : (

But things have settled down a bit and its time to sort it out (again).
I always find it helpful to have other people to be accountable to, and competition is always good.

Well done to everybody who's been doing well, hopefully it'll rub off! My first target is 2lbs for next week, that takes me to a nice round number.

I'm off to start reading through the thread for some tips

Currently I weigh 11 stone 7 pounds, I'm 5ft4, I'm 18 and off to university soon and I really don't want the first impression of me to be the plump girl. I'd be happy if I could get down to 11 stone in 2 weeks and down to 10 by December.

I was a size 16 when i was around your age cabriolean, then the weight fell off me, went back on a bit more and now i'm a 10 (give or take a few size 12's) You'll do it i'm sure! Are you following anything or trying to do it natural?

Hi littlegreenparrot, welcome! Are you following a plan? The other girlies have some good advice if you are. I just hover and butt in now and again!!
