Hiya Coco,
Glad you've had a nice weekend, don't knock a night with friends and wine tis always good
Also don't feel guilty about spending money on you, if for no other reason than you've made me think about how little I care about me these days :T So spurred on while I was dusting my bedroom I went through all my old skin care stuff threw out the very past it bits and organised the rest! Result this evening I've had a facial scrub followed by a face mask and a shower using a gorgeous smelling hair conditioning mask and I now feel 100% betterso thank you
PS I do shower everyday :rotfl: I've just stopped bothering with the nice girlie stuff and the time for me seems to have been all work/money/kids/work/money/kids especially as this was my first weekend off since mid sept, so todays been a lovely indulgent wake up and totally free so I get to feel like me and financially virtuous :money:Final no going back LBM 20/12/10Debt Jan 2011 [STRIKE]£28217.65[/STRIKE][STRIKE][/STRIKE] DMP start 01/02/11 -[STRIKE][/STRIKE]

Hiya,
me time is so important, but i rarely get any. I used to go to the gym and that was an hour a day to escape, but the fees were just too much. Really must get back into it, but so unfit now and put on so much weight, and it makes me feel so horrible, that dont think i can be bothered at the moment.
On the plus side, i have now suddenly got credit, which is ridiculous. When i had no money, i couldnt borrow for toffee, now i'm in control, suddenly everyone everywhere is offering me money. i could if i wanted (and boy do i want to!!!) get hold of £50 000 today. Just got to stay strong and not go on a mad spending spree.....
Saying that, i've never been one for spending on myself, always overspent on family and friends...
well done for treating yourself. I must go and take the cracked nail polish off my nails - its beginning to look trampy.
Have a good week!:hello: The grass is not greener, it just looks that way from a distance :hello:0 -
Imdebtfree - sounds just like me
once you get out of the habit of doing things for yourself it's hard to get back into it !
Did well tonight - made curry , apple crumble & tomorrow nights chicken casserole - done & cleaned up by 8.00 :j that's tomorrow sorted. Just waiting for WM then off to bed for me ! Eldest pushing me to get on with house (bless him) so need to price up a skip .... Years worth of junk to get through !
Checked bank & did a couple of survey's & got a £5 off £40 shop from Mr T so need to plan around that. Meal plan card seems to be working ok - try to get them to decide night before so I know where I am
Still need to clean bathroom ..... But have run out of energy now !

Coco - Just spent a few weeks reading through your posts and the difference in you from when you started this to where you are now (emotionally as well as financially!!) is amazing to see.
I finally cleared my debts a few months ago and gotta say it's the best feeling in the world. Not only can I sleep at night without worrying about everything but I no longer dread the knocks at the door or panic whenever the phone rings.
One of the things I found the hardest was that I'm also a single parent with an 18 yr old student son who spends a lot of his time trying to 'look after' me whereas I think at his age he shouldn't be worrying about money/food/bills. He should be having the time of his life with friends/college etc. (I know I did at his age) It was so hard trying to protect him from how bad things were and at the same time try not to make out that everything was rosy! It was a very fine balancing act which I really struggled with. Thankfully we have reached the light at the end of the tunnel. We're now at the point where I can save up and help him towards going on holiday with his friends next summer - and that is something I thought would never happen!
Anyhow... just wanted to say congrats on how far you have come, the support you are getting on here is brilliant and keep up the amazing work as that tunnel light is getting closer every day!!Savings Target 2015 £10/£3000 :rotfl:0 -
Thanks for the lovely post Essjaytee & welcome
I have come a long way & it's all thanks to the peeps on here :j
I dread to think where I would be without them !!!
Late start today as had a couple of hours owed - so still in my pjs
2 more mental mornings then a week of just me .... Can't wait !! Bank looking ok & have done a couple of eBay photos so it's a start ! Was reading a thread earlier where someone does groceries for £40 a week for four ???!!! God knows how - over to old style boards I guess ! House still a mess but hey HO ! Boys supposed to be staying at dads this weekend ...... Guess what though ???!! :rotfl:
Idiot !! Neither one of them batted an eye lid !!!
Right , shower , clean bathroom & get off to work I suppose
Have a good day all.

hi Coco, i'm still in bed at 4pm, "working from home"...
Actually, I have been working, but got a headache now from staring at my laptop, and tend to get easily distracted by exciting things like washing and washing up.
I know you have a long long way to go, but everyone is right, you have come such a long way, I wish i'd found this forum when i was in a bad way financially. Have to say its so great having money left in the bank at this time of the month, long may it continue for me.
My son's bugging me to take him to the supermarket food shopping, nothing he wants to eat in the fridge. We're on a run down whats in the freezer, as it almost full with nothing we want to eat, so will buy nothing frozen tho!
Enjoy your crumble... my favourite...waiting for some of my neighbours apples so i can make one.

Don't pay for a skip Coco - anything you can't get rid of on eb*y, gumtre* or fac*book local sales pages you can give away on Freecycle/Freegle or similar. I can't believe what people will be really pleased to collect - not only does it save you the cost of the skip, it gives you a warm glow giving things to other people.0
