Happy Saturday
Sun is shining & we actually have a quiet weekend :T
No dropping off / picking up hungover or muddy boys , no friends staying (youngest asked and got a firm no !!) the thought of not having to set my alarm tomorrow is very welcome !!!!
So , catch up time. My house is a bomb site , mounds of washing and need to clean through. Now I have looked , I don't really need to get a lot of groceries - just bits and pieces really. So may put off online shop till next week .......
Whilst I love sunshine - my house looks grubbier in the sunlight .... Must get on !

Morning Coco.
My place is the opposite, my "Doris that does" comes on Friday's so it looks lovely and the laundry is done, not that I ever make any real mess. :A
I've just got back from a walk into the village to pick up the paper. This afternoon I'm going to do some cooking, fill the freezer with stuff. I did the shopping yesterday afternoon.
I'm going to make;
Bolognese sauce for spag bol and lasagne.
Curry, a lamb Bhuna and chicken Chernobyl I think.
Lamb casserole
Cottage pie
Then it's off to the pub for a beer or two with friends  while their respective memsahibs gather together to watch Strictly come X factor or whatever it is.
After which we shall return from the pub with a takeaway, type undecided.
As you say the sun is shining and life is good. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
Well so much for a lie in ....... I woke up bang on 6.30 !!!! V annoying ! I "treated" myself to an hour reading diaries then gave in & got up ..... Maybe it will have to be a Sunday afternoon snooze instead
Mr T , can I eat at yours this week ??!! Sounds delicious !
Had a nice day yesterday. Went to watch youngest play football with the ex , very civilised. Then we came back and he spent afternoon with eldest watching football on tv , youngest went out & I pottered. He left at 4 to pick his gf up and I had a nice relaxing evening with boysgetting there finally ! Hopefully , he will be a bit nearer soon (not too near tho !) so it won't be such a drama for him to have kids for the weekend !
So today I need to get on. I am still worrying about this PPI thing - I know it has been confirmed by letter & phone , I will just be happier when it's done!
It's cloudy and quite cold here today - very wintery - I may have to cave in and give up the flip flops early this year !!!! But the good news is ......... CHRISTMAS IS COMING !!!!!! :j
I love it
Cuppa time & work out what to do first I guess - getting showered and out of pjs would be a start maybe ??!! :rotfl:

Morning CoCo - How was your Sunday? Did you find any eye candy over the frozen peas:rotfl:
Hope you got everything done, as planned?
Have a great Monday X2012 The year I started dealing with my debts.
2017. Lets start this again shall we?
Debt 1 Cleared 2/1/17 £480 Gone forever :j
Debt 2 100/5980 -
Hi CoCo
glad you can be civilised with ex... my new other half spent 4 hrs at a+e with his youngest this weekend because he'd hurt his finger a week ago and his mum hadnt done anything about it. Turns out its broken - and they got told off by hospital for not doing something about it earlier because its started to heal crooked apparently. That's his piano playing future ruined lol. if it had been other way round she would have gone mad...
Dont envy you watching football, ours are in to cricket, much more civilised - its standing outside in the summer not in the winter.
Have a fun week not spending money :A:hello: The grass is not greener, it just looks that way from a distance :hello:0 -
Hi,
I have been ruminating on how to clear my debt for months now, so I'm hoping to make some actual headway by posting here. I wasn't sure whether to start off in the CCCS thread or here, so apologies if it should be the former.
I've considered a few steps (after cutting down on expenses and the basics) but find myself returning to square one having not progressed much.
I owe: credit card £3750 (19.9%), overdraft £1200 (19.9%), personal loan (£2222). On pay day, my account will have a couple of hundred in it and I will gradually deplete that to the £1250 limit each month (wage £1200/month plus recently working tax credits).
I'd like to pay more to the card but I can only afford the min payment plus interest - so I don't dent it much and I'm finding using the overdraft each month frustrating. I incur charges and am paying interest.
My bank rejected an offer to pay a lower interest rate on the credit card. I really want to start chipping away at my debts and I have made plenty of cuts to my outgoings but they remain slightly more than my monthly income.
My wife recently lost her job and the only benefits we receive are the working tax credits.
I'd appreciate some ideas on where to start.0 -

Hiya, sorry life so tough at the moment, sadly it'll probably get tougher before it gets easier but it will honest:)
probably the best place to start is the debt free wannabee thread, you'll be able to repost your post there and then someone will explain how to post a full statement of affairs (I'm not clever enough to tell you how, sorry!) and then loads of people will look at it objectively and make suggestions for where you can save/cut back etc etc sometimes when you're too close you can't see the wood for the trees! Imfebtfree - sorry to hear about the a&e trip , sounds painful for the poor boy. Civilised is the only way to go (though it's difficult sometimes!)
Poor Boy , good luck , I hope you get the help you need , you are in the right place
Hey Magsorry about the cold - hope you feel better soon & make it through all those shifts !!!! You must be wiped x
So NSD today. I have discovered the only way to do lunch for work is to make extra portion of dinner the night before - I just can't be bothered with sandwiches. Tho that might explain why my bottom doesn't fit into my jeans any more :rotfl:
No buyers for the boys yet ..... May have to say "free to a good home"
It's possible that I may have a free weekend as boys staying at friends this weekend. Then, ex said he will have them next weekend ..... I wont get too excited yet tho !
There is masses to do to get this house ready to sell - I am going to need top value on it to clear what I need to get. So me and boys are going to do a massive declutter and start room by room. We will do a bit at a time as and when we have a bit of spare cash (ex said he will chip in) so it will take a while but that's ok. Worth the effort I think to maximise what I can get - we will need every pennyit's either that or chuck it on as is & get a lower offer so I think I should do it properly and get the most I can. Selfishly , I think i need a bit of a break from the pressure too. If we out by next spring I will be ok with that.
Off to clear up , change beds again (flaming cat leaving a "surprise" upstairs !!!!) need to clean bathroom too ..... Fun, fun , fun
