Thank you Chevalier for your post x
Coco thank you for your advice - I have spoken to a housing association re the MRS scheme and they have taken all my income details down and mums income but didnt ask re our outgoings and I am just worried that they are going to say that we have enough to live off at the end of the month when we don't - we end up scrapping down the settee and car etc too - The credit card companies are now re-writting to me now saying that they need me to increase payments but that is impossible just a very scary place to be -- what upsets me most is my 17 year old son is starting to worry and I know he is because he goes very quiet and has a very worried look on his face and it breaks my heart to see him like this he shouldn't hve to be going through this its not his fault such a worry -
anyway thanks for your reply you are an amazing person and I really wish you well with your future you deserve every happiness as goes to the rest of the people on here - I hope you dont mind me just asking so many questions just talking to someone helps a little xx
Thanks again:):)
oh forgot to say my mortgage lender will not help anymore they put me on intrest only for a year and that was it - I owe them CC and overdraft so they are not willing to help me now willing to laon you the money but when you need help its a NO0 -
Win , "we can't do any more to help" is a standard mortgage comp answer - doesn't mean it's actually the case though as I recently found out
Local council guy also told me that it costs a mortgage company thousands to reposses a home & is a very last resort for them as it's quite likely they will never get their money back. It is their duty to exhaust every avenue before they go this route. For me, when I got to the point of saying "Do your worst take my house , then you willnever get your money " they suddenly decided to help - now I am gowing to have the same fight with secured loan. It's a dangerous game but my family & my health are more important
As for your son - it very much depends on him & your relationship I guess. I ended up sitting eldest down & explaining everything because my ex kept drip feeding him stuff. For him , he worrys more about stuff he doesn't know or understand fully. Now he knows the score - he is actively helping with the money saving / house hunting. The youngest is aware we will be moving cos we can't afford to stay here - he is happy as long as he gets a bigger bedroom
Kids aren't stupid & , certainly for mine , are happier knowing the score and not being kept in the dark.
You dont need to dump ££ amounts etc on him but if he knows you trust him enough to tell him & talk to him - he might just surprise you
Keep asking questions if you need & I will help you where I can

Hi again everyone and thanks for the welcome much needed at the moment with all the stress and worry - Does anyone know if they class Disability Living allowance as an income when applying for the Mortgage rescue scheme or where I will find out if they do - Just wondering if they will just use my income and my mums pension when checkig to see if we are suitable for the scheme or will the DLA be classed as an income -
Hope everyone is ok and plodding on with our stressfull lives
I know something I will never get another loan or credit card again for as long as I live banks are willing to borrow but then when you need their help the answer in a NO.:):):):):)0 -

I don't think banks or building societies count DLA as income when applying for a mortgage, some might but I don't know any that do so it may not count for Mortgage rescue.
I'm sure someone will be along shortly who knows but I think the only right answer to your question is to ask the people best placed to know, Shelter, Citizens advice and your local housing authority.
Have you had a look at the Government web site?

Good luck and let us know how you get on.One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
Hey Masonn good to see you
Win , keep smiling you are doing great !
The link Masonn has posted is the one you need , you should be able to establish if you fit the criteria from that & it explains how it all works . I would really strongly urge you to call shelter or someone - they will work through it with you & can tell you if you are suitable - they then formerly recommend you to your local council
It takes about an hour & is a bit tedious but well worth it - make sued you know exactly how long is left on your mortgage & outstanding balance etc & the usual incomings/ outgoings.
It's all down to affordability and whether you can live a reasonable standard of living & cope with minor emergencies. I cannot recommend these people highly enough. MRS may not be your only option so please speak to someone.
Good luck & try to keep smiling
