Old thread: 2012 Forum redesign

Further to my post #52 these shots show more clearly the layouts I am suggesting. I apologise that the four pictures are varying sizes, but you will get the idea.
1) OLD
2) NEW
3) POSSIBLE
The heading has been reduced to a single line and the post number # mark is back. Note that the signature is exactly the same as the ‘OLD’, but the avatar and post/thanks detail is to the left. The avatar is larger than with the ‘NEW’.
4) POSSIBLE exactly the same as 3) but with signature off in UserCP0 -
Got back to stretchy thank goodness, thank you Ian.0

Under NEW new MSE forum design the auto-generated links look really messy.
Sorry, that should be bigger. :wall: But you get my point.0 -
And I still detest the sidebar. It takes up too much room at the top of threads, then disappears leaving a massive hole at the middle of threads and lower.
I suggested in a previous thread that the side bar be closeable with the forum stretching out to take its place. Is that a possibility?0 -
Well... I actually quite like the changes.Operation House Move £11993.60/£25000 (47% achieved)

The only thing I've ever wanted from this forum was some way to recognise the Original Poster in a thread. Pistonheads forum has a small arrow next to all posts in a thread made by the OP, which makes a long discussion much much easier to follow.
As for the new look, nope sorry, went straight back to stretchy I'm afraid.0 -

edit: okay,do you have an ability to allow viewing of full size images?
that screen grab is from a 28" screen
on other VB forums,it resizes but gives the option to click and view in full size
oh,and I still find the fixed width in a forum format a waste of space0 -

lol. That really does demonstrate how mind bogglingly daft such a narrow fixed width default is.
It's fine saying that you have the option to use the stretchy one, but that only works when you are logged in.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
