Not top of the planning though

Am loving how organised you all are!! :T. I have got as far as booking the hotel which was done last July, and my parents bought my dress for me. I chose it in October and it arrived into the store last week, they're keeping it for me so nothing more to do with I until December.

The dj is coming to meet us on Sunday so that's the first i've organised anything since last year

Hello my lovelies! You all have been busy! How did the dress shopping go lil_miss_insanity?

Just a little update from me, have bought some weddingy things this week and wanted to fill you in!

First off I've bought Bridesmaid dresses! I was reading your other thread Daisie, about troubles with your sister. You'll never believe it but my colour scheme is purple and yellow too! Great minds think alike and all that :D I chose purple first but wanted to add the yellow to make it more spring like if that makes sense.

My sister sounds very similar to yours. She is very fussy about what she wears and 'won't know if she likes anything until she tries it on' Which is fair enough but I couldn't get her to commit to anything at all, she turned her nose up at purple saying it's difficult to wear and the length saying long is too formal but short was wrong too Argh! The other 2, my 2 best friends, will most likely wear what ever I ask them to. (within reason of course!)

So I've made a decision and gone ahead and bought 3 of these. I think will it suit all 3, am going to get the girls to try them on this week. Keep everything crossed for me cause I love them and so want them to be right! :rotfl:
I texted my sis to let her know and I got 20 questions! I didn't tell her much though. I don't want her to make any judgements until she sees the dress in the flesh, it looks even nicer than in the photo and the model they've used is about 10 feet tall so it's not that short on normal sized people :D

Then I went to a big bridal shop to see some other BM dresses as back up. I couldn't pluck up the courage to try anything on myself though. I think it's partly cause I wouldn't want anyone looking at me and partly cause I know what dress I want already and don't want to see another I like!

Finally earlier today I bought 12 small lanterns to use as decorations for the reception somewhere, not sure where yet though. I really need to arrange a visit to the venue and see what I have to work with.

Sorry for the essay, hope everyone else's plans are going well

    xx

    Good morning all Mrs April's!

Have finally got into this wedding lark a bit more. I confirmed my DJ on Sunday, he came to meet us and was just lovely, he also has a starlit dancefloor and beautiful up lighters which we're going to use for the evening part, just to make the room look different. So deposit paid already.

I've hired just one car, a Bentley. I wasn't going to have a car as my Dad has a lovely merc but then I thought the car journey from the Chapel to the hotel is 40 mins and it will probably be the only time OH and I have together. I'm still using Dads car but will put the bridesmaids into it.

Just online looking at invitations, I've a good idea what I want, just need help with insert sizes. I'm looking a 5 x 7 or 5x5 pocketfold, I've made one up on pure invitations and it only cost £2 so am looking forward to it arriving. It'll also mean I have to make it up and see if I'm up to doing it  then I can source cheaper alternatives :money:

I've asked both my parents and OH's parents for guest lists which I havent received, I kinda need an idea so I know what kinda numbers for invites. We've towards 180 - 200 guests so invites will be alot of work, although I'm going to make them all the same with no names on the invite.

Heading back to my bridal shop with one of my bridesmaids tonight, for the first trip trying on dresses for her. I've picked a colour and luckily the girls love it, jus need a style. Plus it's another excuse for me to swan about in my dress which arrived 2 weeks ago.

So 9 months 18 days 4 hours and 28 mins to go :rotfl:

We are indeed, I am soooo excited! We're staying out there for 3 weeks in total, fly out the week before, get married, then stay for two more weeks for the honeymoon! We might spend a couple of days at the Grand Canyon/San Fransisco/LA but the majority will be in Vegas.

In other news; have found the free over-sized postcards on Vistaprint so am working on those at the moment.

Jury is still out on the BM dresses I bought, I think my two best friends liked them, although one needs a different size. She's trying it on in a shop near her this lunchtime and will let me know. Assuming that all goes to plan there's just my sister to impress this weekend. The dresses have gone on sale on line now too! Would it be cheeky to take them back to the shop and re-order them? Am just thinking of :money: lol

Also OH put my mind to rest a bit about the rings. I'd been having a bit of a panic about this. (Sorry long story incoming!)When I told him it was generally the Grooms job to sort these out he went away, and then came back a bit later saying he's sorted it but wouldn't tell me what he's going to get. I felt a bit of irrational bridezilla creep up on me as if the band is too thick I won't be able to wear it and I worry about it fitting with my engagement ring. So I've been pestering him to tell me, which means he dig in his heels and refuses to :rotfl: Anyway a friend suggested I ask if I can try it on wearing a blindfold, which I did and explained (again!) why it's important to me to try it on. To which he said not to worry as it's a thin band, and I won't be able to wear it with my engagement ring... intriguing! SO my fears have been sort of put to rest, although I would like to make sure it's the correct size before the day!

Actually I've noticed as the big day gets closer OH is getting more interested in plans :) Anyone else finding this? Maybe it's a guy thing?

Ooh exciting! Have you been to Vegas before?

You should def def def do SF!! (and of course the Grand Canyon although I was so unimpressed with it) and drive through Death Valley... oooh and Napa and Santa Cruz and you could go to Yosemite... (can you tell this is my absolute favourite place in the world?!)
