    Well, yesterday I chose my wedding dress!! YAY! It has been ordered and should come in September, which feels like aaaaaages until I can see it again, but never mind.

    Now I've started thinking veil, shoes, accessories...!! I wanted to wear my mum's veil but hers is white and my dress is ivory and she thinks it won't work :( It makes me sad. I think I'm going to wear jewellery I already own so that's sorted. Underwear-wise, the dress doesn't need a bra so it'll just be some nice white knickers needed! lol!

    Sooooooo excited - is anyone else feeling that next April is a million years away?!?!?!
  • I'm getting married on 1st April :) soo excited! My dress came in last week and it's amazing! I'm getting married here : www.thevu.co.uk
    Have got venue booked, my dress, band, photographer, bridesmaid dresses ordered and someone to marry us sorted! Save the dates have been sent too, so pretty organised :)

    That does sound organised martinsgirl! And your venue looks beautiful!

    I'm so excited cause I just ordered some free stuff from Vistaprint;

    The wedding save the dates and invitations are being done by a seller on Etsy but we need invitations for the reception back in the UK, I suppose like 'evening' invitations. I think we'll probably do oversize postcards for the actual invites, so am waiting for them to come up on a free offer.

    In the meantime I've got;

    100 postcards as RSVP cards
    250 (!) business cards to go in with the favours saying thank you for celebrating with us
    1 t shirt saying bridesmaid (need to get 2 more and maybe others for MotB, MotG etc)
    1 sheet round stickers with our names and the date
    140 return address labels

    I paid about 8 pounds for the business cards as I customised the layout and wanted blank reverse sides.
    With postage it was 15 quid! Bargain :D

    Now I just have to wait till they get here :(

    Next on my list are dresses, BMs and mine (Daisiegg you've made me want to go dress shopping!!!) . Oh and we decorations for the venue... We seem to have ended up with a marquee to decorate :eek:
    We paid the deposit for the venue last week, we've booked it for a bank holiday Sunday and as the marquee will be up already we get the use of it for free. It'll only be needed for the meal so I won't go too overboard with the decs, but I'd like it to look nice, need high impact centre pieces!
    Is everyone having chair covers? and what is a good price for them? I suppose the organza bows would look silly without them :( Shame cause I could make those myself!

    And I don't know if it'll be worth getting them if we're only in the marquee for a couple of hours... I guess I need to see the chairs before I decide :rotfl:

    Hope everyone else is getting on OK :D

    Daisie, to me April seems really far away and then I'll think about all the things I need to do and it suddenly seems really close!
    Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:
    XStitch to do list:

    -- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --

    Hi Daisegg,

    Thanks for asking - dress acquired! :D (well ordered anyway...)

    Unfortunately I didn't manage to get a reduction in price, although I did try ;)

    Now I'm asking for help on the 'please help me find...' thread to find the very nearly matching tiara a little bit cheaper than the £65 price tag in the shop.

    I thought I'd found my shoes - £28 from Debenhams but they were pinching after an hour - the lovely lady in the shop advised that I need shoes I'm comfortable in for the whole day as if I change to flat shoes later, the dress will drag on the floor. I have time to try and stretch them (sideways) or find another pair.

    It all feels a bit surreal!

    Eek exciting, so glad you found your dress!! Was it the first time you'd been dress shopping? I found mine in the first shop after trying on 4 dresses!

    I'm sooooo excited today as my wedding 'tiara' has just arrived! It's this http://www.elegantsteps.co.uk/products/Starlet-Collection-Classic-Pearl-and-Crystal-Hairband%252dSALE.html and it's come in a really beautiful fancy box and all wrapped in pink tissue paper, and it's gorgeous! It's a bit sort of smaller than I expected but I think that's ok, particularly as my dress is very blingy and I'll have a huge veil. Yay!!!

    I've been window shopping a bit and had tried on dresses in a couple of places - this was the third. Originally visited with MIL2B and then went back yesterday with my mum & sister. They were very impressed with it.

    Your tiara looks beautiful Daisiegg!

    It is very pretty, and basically exactly what I wanted....but I'm slightly annoyed as on the website it says it is made of 'Swarovski clear crystal and fresh water pearl'...but the 'pearls' are definitely plastic and I'm pretty sure the 'crystals' are too. It still looks lovely and I know it doesn't really matter, but...
