    Hi all!

I'm getting bored of lurking on other months' threads and thought I'd see how all us Aprils are doing :)

I am slightly concerned as my mother has decided she wants to make our invitations....and I have decided to make personalised biscuits as favours/place names! Eek! Suddenly my wedding with absolutely no DIY has rather a lot riding on DIY! My mum is also going to make my veil, as I wanted to wear her veil, which she made herself, but it's white and my dress is ivory. So she is going to make me an ivory one...

In other news though, got my shoes :)

I hope no one minds but I've gone through the thread and gathered names and dates, thought it would be nice to see it all in one place! (can you tell it's half term and I'm putting off marking?!)

  • Helloooooo! I am hoping to be an April 2013 bride, but am waiting on whether my dream church will have me.

I am really concerned about getting too carried away - and the MSE side of my that said "I don't need a wedding car, a taxi's fine...Of course I don't want to waste money on an expensive dress, I'll only wear once..." is now getting distracted by sparkles and pretty things, like some kind of bridezilla magpie!

They've already been really good - I'm out of parish, and so they've said they'll try and swing it using the 'habitual attendance' rule. Now, as I live 220 miles away now (although it's my home town), it will be tricky. So they've said they're trying to get me signed up "in anticipation" of my attendance at least monthly! So by 1st July, when I next visit, I should be able to look at dates with them. *crosses fingers*

The place is where we had school carol services for 7 years, it was opposite where I worked for 5 years (and where my mum has worked for 15!) and the first time I came back, in April, I randomly met one of my best friends from school, who I've not seen in 12 years! It just *has* to be there. It *has* to.

Aww I really hope you get it! Is it CofE? I'm Catholic and I'm getting married in a church that's not my parish church, but no one seemed to mind. Mind you, it's my parents' parish, and I did attend the secondary school attached to it, so that may have helped.

    Hello All,

Hope your plans are all progressing well.

We've now decided on our caterer and cake maker.
Our photographer was planning on increasing prices for next year but has now decided to freeze them for 2013.
    :)

I'm trying not to do too much at once! The temptation is to try and have everything organised NOW... we need to sit down and properly think about deadlines.

I think we may be borrowing Daisiegg's idea and having sweet and savoury biscuits instead of canapes at the drinks reception. (Thank you! :T)

    Hope you get the church

PS Thanks Daisiegg for sorting the dates!

It's CofE - and you can do it if you satisfy any one of 7 connections:

    That one of you:
    - has at any time lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months
    - was baptised in the parish concerned
    - was prepared for confirmation in the parish
    - has at any time regularly gone to normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months
    - One of your parents has lived in the parish for a period of at least 6 months or
    - Has regularly gone to normal church services in the parish church for a period of at least 6 months or
-That one of your parents or grandparents was married in the parish

I can't do any of them, as we live just outside the town boundary in the outskirts. So habitual attendance it is!

    Going dress shopping today...
