  • What a weekend!!

After a few problems and issues with my dress shop, I went down settled the bill and took my dress out of there! After our venue issues in December and having to find a new venue and bring the date forward etc i was not risking my dress!

I've contacted the seamstress to arrange a fitting for the alterations to be done on 6th march!

Sunday finally found some shoes both me and bridesmaid were happy with actually we loved them! She would have size 6 and a half feet!!! Lol picked up some shoes for our child bridesmaid too! Were meant to be £16 but went through the till at £12.80! :)

Went to ikea too and got lots of vases for centrepieces! We have lots of those gel cubes to go in them and I'm going to pop a butterfly in the top of them to go with our theme!

Paid the venue up in full last week so that's all done! Just red to make sure we pay the register office by Friday this week!

Gosh skoobs that is a very comprehensive list! What kind of restaurant do you want for your post wedding meal? I can recommend some nice fancy places if that is what you are after :)

Yes please! I have heard good things about the Cafe Bellagio, so that's my fall back position I guess but any other ideas would be great :)
Well I think we have decided overnight to do favours, to do small organza bags of heart-themed sweets. You can get mini packs of love hearts and various other heart shaped sweets/chocolates so I am just going to do it.

That sounds like a great idea, inexpensive too. I think favours are a nice touch.

I need to stop buying things....going through a phase at the moment, it seems like I am ordering stuff every day. You could just spend infinite money on this wedding stuff couldn't you! Eek!

You definitely could, this was me for the last couple of weeks! There's so much choice now, it's so easy to get carried away. And if you're anything like me you everything off and then have to buy everything at once cause if you don't order it now, there won't be time!!

Glad everything's coming togther for you too Caz!

I thought my list had got shorter but it seems to just be growing! I'm on a mission today to get as many things ticked off as possible!

Wow, Just had a mega catch up on this thread-I've been so busy with work I feel like I haven't had five minutes spare.

I get married in 5 and a half weeks...how did that happen?! I feel like I still have quite a bit to do and have felt my stress levels creeping up slowly after the last couple of weeks. I really am at the stage where I'm looking forward to the wedding but can't wait for it to be over and get my life back!

However my hair and makeup trials went really well and I'm really happy with that eventhough I'm struggling with the veil that I bought originally so I'm searching for a new one as I don't want to pay bridal shop prices! I also need to decide on jewellery as well. On top of that we have to finalise the order of service, final numbers with the venue, transport for guests, finish the favours and a million and one other things!

Hen do went fab thanks...we had a lovely time. My sister went all out and had many suprises! She made laminated pictures of each of us pulling silly faces to hang around our necks and we had to wear them out around london. We got dragged up on stage at the pub with a wonderful drag queen and interviewed and then had to do a first dance in front of everyone. Afternoon tea on the thames and then we saw wicked in the west end! Very tired after but such an amazing time!

Today went for my hair and make up trial and happy with that. The lady doing it was amazing and very nice and friendly so I know I will feel comfortable. Took my mother in law to be as my mum is 200 miles away and she loved it too!

    On our to do list...

Finalise the wedding planner and email to our venue.
Pick the canapes for drinks reception.
Sort our playlists for drinks reception and wedding breakfast.
Email vows to registrar for approval.
    Arrange beauty treatments.
Make seating planner (I have all the stuff)
    Name cards.
Find shoes boxes to put each tables stuff inside so someone else can set up if needed!
    Stockings/tights.
    Attend dress alterations.

    Think that is it!

All your weddings sound so exciting! I keep telling myself to chill and enjoy it. I'm not a worrier in general but smal things are worrying me like the bridesmaid dresses arriving and fitting!
  • Hey everyone, this time in 7 weeks I will be married!:j

I received my dress this week, I bought it from eBay from a company in china which makes copies of dresses for a fraction of the cost. I was a bit dubious about it to be honest, but I paid £253 for my dress and my daughters bridesmaids dress. Mine is a copy of an Ella dress and my daughter's dress is a copy of a Dessy dress. I am so happy with them, I cannot believe how perfect they are! I expected them to be nice, but not as good quality as something you would buy here but I am amazed at them! :D I know I sound like a bit of a sales person now, but I would recommend them to anyone. So happy!

We also bought my wedding ring last weekend. Still have to choose OH's ring, but at least now he has an idea of what he wants.

How is everyone else getting on?:)
