    Hi girls

    How is everyone?

Well my OH has just proved he is a good boy and that my training him has been worthwhile lol a bunch of yellow roses with a teddy and a balloon just turned up at my office :)

It has really cheered me up. Today is our 4th Valentines Day and we still haven't spent one together. Plus he is living away at the moment so we only see each once every 2 weeks.

We exchanged presents last week and he out did himself. He got me a pair of Iron Fist heels I have been after for a year now, a pandora charm with love written on it in 6 diffrent languages, he got me a build the bear bunny from out dog Codey (i know so sad) and a pair of rubber ducks with hearts on them that I had fallen in love with in a shop (hadn't even told him)

Hope you're all having a good day and being spoilt.

Faith that's lovely - glad it's a great Valentine's even though you're not actually together for it!

We don't do Valentine's at all really so exchanged cards but nothing else. Plus my OH is a restaurant manager so he always has to work anyway. Having said that, we couldn't have afforded anything this year anyway with wedding costs so it's probably for the best!!

That's sort of where I am with wedding stuff actually - paying all the invoices!!!

Yeah know what you mean about OH working he is a pub manager so Valentines Day, Mothers Day, Christmas & New Year are all a no go.

I'm sick of invoices lol most are paid off now. All i have left are a bit on the cake. My mum is paying for the main cake but we want figurines of our animals and they work out to be £240 . Also have OH's 30th Birthday cake to be paid as his 30th is 2 days after the wedding.

Flowers need paying but I need to know how many tables I'm having so she can do final bill same with the balloons.

Dress is paid and all my shoes ect are brought but I have to find my necklace I put it somewhere really safe and now can't find it :(.

Still need a few silly bits for bridesmaids. The majority of their pamper packs are done just need to get their chocolates.

This is literally my life....! You're not alone :) In fact I'd say just weekends and evenings are a no go in general...which is interesting when I work mon-fri 9-5...but anyway I digress

Stupid question and you're probably already sorted, but do you have loads of animals? We've had an animal bride and groom topper made (not strictly the same I know) and it was only £60

Don't worry about digressing lol I'm in the same boat I work mon-fri 9-5 but I also work in a bar weeknights and weekends and my pub has an annoying habit of making me work when OH is due to come home.

Yeah we have 2 dogs and 6 cats  We're not having a topped cause we have a quaich (Scottish drinking cup) instead. This is the cake below

  • Scared1, did you use any website or book to do this or did you just write what you wanted? We want to write our own vows too but aren't really sure where to start!

I just wrote mine from the heart. I knew what I wanted and how I see our marriage and it just came...some promises that I know I want to try and keep...I found it quite easy to say what i wanted and basically just made some promises...

Its our Hen Do (joint one) this weekend...my sister has full control...I know we're in London and a west end show is involved....so excited...we're all packed and have new outfits...nails done...hair done...starting the day with a cream tea in covent garden...

Eek I can't believe we've fallen off the front page!

    How is everyone doing?

scared1, how was your hen do? :)

It was 7 weeks on Saturday for us...I am starting to feel a bit stressed. In a weird way I feel more stressed about all the little things than I ever did about getting the big things sorted.

Just spent the morning (it is half term!) trying to figure out the seating plan. I kept getting stuck on where to put OH's daughter and her boyfriend. She is 16 and won't know anyone at the wedding (his family is practically non-existent!). There aren't really any other guests of her sort of age either. In the end I think I'm just going to have to put her on the top table, which makes it 9 on the top table...I don't know if this is ok or not. I just don't want her to be moody because she's sitting with a load of people she doesn't know (despite having her boyfriend there mind you) and she's not exactly very sociable or chatty!

    Argh I don't know...

Better update my To Do List to try and spur me on to get some stuff done....

Wow this is where I feel so much earlier than you all (I guess I am lol).

We now have less than 5 weeks so I have had to do almost everything on your list Daisy! My hair dresser needs paying let alone booking the trial! And final numbers have to be in middle of next week so that's pretty much done. Your list looks very comprehensive though so really well done, I keep forgetting things.

So scary but awesome :) our hen/stag weekend is not this weekend but the one after, am so glad we left it til only 3 weeks before as it feels like a real last hurrah but also a nice time to relax and have fun amongst all the stress.

Hope everyone is doing well :) xx

Oh my, I thought things couldn't get anymore stressful and weird, how wrong I was! Don't want to moan about family stuff on here but have had the most crazy weekend. And this stinking cold isn't helping! =/ Have got my chin firmly up though, lots of things to keep me busy. :D

Oh Daisie, I just realised we'll be flying while you're getting married!

At the moment we're having 8 on our top table (only decided to have one this weekend!) it might go up to 10, I think 9 would be fine.

Hope your hen do is fab cats! Mine is the weekend of the 26th, my two BMs who cant come to Vegas are organising it for me, I think my idea of a quiet meal and drinks has gone out the window!!

I'm going to wade in with my to do list! Most things need to be done by the time we fly (6 and a half weeks to go... gulp!) Here it goes!

      - Buy frame or board and pegs to display escort cards
      - Make escort cards
      - 6" cake tins, 10" cake board, dowels and brooches x2 for wedding cake
      - make 6" and 12" fruit tiers (this coming weekend or the one after!)
      - buy sprinkles for truffles
      - make truffles x 400 and freeze (Easter weekend)
      - decide on and book strings (duo/trio) for reception
      - shoes for my sister
      - groom's suit(s)
      - finalise centrepieces
      - let planner in Las Vegas know music choices, floral choices and rooms that need to be booked.
      - buy original cd recordings of music choices.
      - book hair and make up in Vegas
      - book somewhere for post wedding meal in Vegas (Cafe Bellagio?)
      - book flights to Vegas ( :rotfl: )
      - book rental property for first week in Vegas
      - book hotel for second half of honey moon
      - make sashes/accessories for flower girls
      - arrange trying on session for flower girls/ring bearer
      - finish brooch bouquet
      - buy silk flowers for inside brooch bouquet
      - draft table plan (when more RSVPs are in)
      - have final meeting with reception venue (meal choices, numbers, decorations plans etc

And when we get back I/we will need to

      - make 8in madeira and 10in chocolate tiers for cake
      - ice and decorate all tiers
      - box up truffles
      - finalise table plan

Am off to the National Wedding show this Friday to get my veil, probably to last show I'll go to :( It's quite sad that we'll never get to plan another wedding. I'll be at a loss after it's all over!

Need to pull my finger out, have done no crafty stuff the last two weekends! xx

Gosh skoobs that is a very comprehensive list! What kind of restaurant do you want for your post wedding meal? I can recommend some nice fancy places if that is what you are after :)

Well I think we have decided overnight to do favours, to do small organza bags of heart-themed sweets. You can get mini packs of love hearts and various other heart shaped sweets/chocolates so I am just going to do it.

Ooh, I am also very excited as one of my best friends got engaged over the weekend :) so I will have a wedding to help plan once mine is all over! :D

I need to stop buying things....going through a phase at the moment, it seems like I am ordering stuff every day. You could just spend infinite money on this wedding stuff couldn't you! Eek!
