I know I have updated half on here, half on other threads on here and half in the facebook group - sorry!
Ok, Stormtrooper now booked as ring bearer, Registry office are completely in the know and excited! Brother also versed on what he has to do.
Wedding rings have been paid for and are remaining at the jewellers until they have altered my engagement ring to fit around my wedding band. I am currently sporting a £12 Accessorize fake ring as I couldn't get used to not wearing one!
The men went shopping the same day and have found shirts, two waistcoats but no trousers. God only knows if they will manage to get full outfits at some point! I said I would get their ties so I got the right colours and I found a purple one for H2B ok but could I find pink....could I ****! The guy at Moss Bros told me I'd be able to get one in the summer....err yeah, I'll just move the wedding then shall I doofus!? Eventually went for charcoal grey ties which were a bargainous £1 each from Burton, then the guys can just have their button holes instead. Really, I was only planning on getting the mens waistcoats and trousers, figuring they would all have white shirts/black shoes but OH decided to get them all shirts @ £20 a pop and is wavering on the shoes after my intervention!
I bought more things for the mens giftboxes - personalised coasters and a small hotel choclat slab for them each, and some socks stating their wedding role. Need to get either mini spirits or the pre mixed cans and then see the glass painting lady for their tumblers.
Can't remember if I said I ordered my mum a personalised trolley token with beading in wedding colours? It's stunning, as is the wooden plaque I got for my daughter from Ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320954106567?var=510073344332&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
Have now bought my cake stand for wedding cake and floating candles for my tall holders, my mum kindly ordered me some personalised cake bags and bubbles for the wedding tables. I made a mock up centrepiece tonight with sand and shells and the candle and realised that the shell baskets I got are mostly flat shells and I needed some more interesting shapes....so just spent another £20 on those! I am just bleeding money right now!
Having trouble with my teeth and the whitening so having to have a few days off, lost no weight last week but my Zumba instructor went right through my food diary and reckons I am not eating enough, must try harder!. Decided to send my evening invites out when we get back from NYC mid Feb and am waiting for two wedding RSVPs, then need to decide on table plan!
Currently trying to make my mind up on a singer, I really wanted some sort of live music and a local swing/buble/ratpack style singer will do 90 minutes for £200 during our drinks reception and meal, OH has no idea I have even looked at this, just waiting to see what my mum thinks!
Think I will be eating $1 hotdogs in NYC!

OK rant/whinge incoming, I apologise in advance!
Met a friend last night for a drink, one of the ones coming to Vegas. I was so looking forward to a chat about all of the stuff that's been going on! But before I got a word out she announced that she and her fiance weren't coming anymoreApparently when our plans went all up in the air (with OH's friend pulling out) and I told everyone to hold off booking they decided that they needed to book something and they should go somewhere that they'd prefer to go, and so booked to go to Washington
This after my second BM told me last week that me saying hold on had given her husband cold feet so they weren't going either.
I thought warning them was the right thing to do, we didn't want anyone to lose money. It was bad enough that we were looking at losing the money we have paid for the wedding package! (Money which we can ill afford to lose and is part of the reason why we're going ahead with Vegas, the other part being that's where we really want to get married!) Seems I would have been better keeping my mouth shut, although maybe then they wouldn't have had the guts to say anything until a week to go.
I should have guessed when she didn't respond to my message saying that Vegas was back on
I just burst into tearsand she got upset too, saying if she'd known others had pulled out they would have stuck with Vegas, and I should have told her what was going on. I didn't even know what was going on until I messaged her and I told her then I needed to meet her to catch up.
She said she's going to look into flying down to Vegas for a couple of days for the wedding, if they can afford it. I really hope that she can sort it as I want her to be there but booking Washington instead?!! That really hurts. Words fail me
I know I probably sound like a whingey cow bag but I don't get why everyone's suddenly telling us now, with 2 months to go, that they can't make it. I understand it's a lot of money but surely everyone knew that from the beginning so why agree to come?! I also understand that people will do what's best for them, but it still hurts to be let down and to realise that even for our closest friends it's just another day, just another party.
I suppose I'm odd for making sure I do what I say I will! I went to this friends wedding in Poland, managed to make it work even though I had to beg and plead to get weekend off as I worked weekends then. That's different apparently, as Poland isn't as far as Vegas and I didn't have to pay for accomodation as I stayed at her parents house. I said we're willing to help her with costs if that's what was needed to have her there (same with the other friends) although when I offered to she shrugged it off =/ Will see what happens, she's invited me round tomorrow so am keeping my fingers crossed, and for my other BM too.
Right pity party over, sorry! Will do another post with an update as this one's got a bit long :rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -

Here's where I am today! I'm still trying to ignore everything that going on with our guests and distracting myself by buying more stuff (like a whole lot more brooches for my bouquet >.> Have avoided the parasol so far though) so my list is looking a bit shorter :T
I do keep finding things to add on though, like looking for a string trio or quartet to play at the beginning of the reception. Does anyone have any recommendations in the NW London/Herts area? (Mum likes this idea and has said she'll pay, yay!) I'm trying not to buy anymore stuff while waiting for all the other stuff to arrive :rotfl:
Even with everything that's going on, I'm starting to look forward to our trip so much. We've booked tickets to a gig in Vegas and a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon :T Can't wait!!
We have a meeting this afternoon with the celebrant to discuss our ceremony. Oh, just realised that I left off all the stuff with my mum from my rant above :rotfl: I won't go into at the moment but argh! On one hand she drives me potty, but then she offers to help out with costs!
Jtr - your singer sounds fab! I love that music but OH wouldn't approve. I want 'Fly me to the Moon' as our kiss song when the fountains go off. OH wants Billie Jean or Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds (there isn't a whole lot of choice and most of the songs are Celine Dion type, so not us!)
jellytot - I'll PM you
lil_miss - hope you've sorted your tablecloths! And that you've got your stormtrooper!!
Daisie - This is our tour The offer we got guaranteed the super save price for all days/times but there's still a good online discount showing. I'll keep an eye out for deals for you if you like, what sort of tour are you looking for ideally?
This weekend I be will trying to get all the invitations trimmed and assembled so we can send them out on Monday, here's hoping!Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -

Hi girls, (apologies for the repeat for those of you in the fb group).
I haven't been on here for a while....
I don't know how many of you are aware but in June last year I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 28.
I underwent chemo and 2 lots of surgery and yesterday I found out that the cancer is all gone
I still have to have radiotherapy as a precaution but other than that I'm all done!
I'm still getting married on 21/04 & have a fair few things still to do....
Before I had really long waist length hair and now it's v v short, 3 months ago I was bald. So my photos won't look like how I always imagined but I'm here and healthy!
Jelly xxLover of languages, handbags, travel, my Border Terrier, my husband, cheese & gin. Kicker of cancer's butt. Not necessarily in that order0
