  • Hi ladies,

Long time no post, I know. I have been getting a little worked up about the whole thing myself. Sometimes it feels like more of a stress than anything else. Work's a nightmare, we're now not even spending Christmas together as he's working every day including Christmas Day and New Year.

I empathise with the fear that nobody will want to come. We have very few close friends, and one of those is going to be in Australia. Of the friends I've facebook save-the-dated only 1 other replied, and nobody sent an address for their invite. At work, one of the people I'd told to save the date has quit and I've not heard anything from him for weeks. I'm now seriously thinking it would have been better to be abroad with close friends and family only - at least then I wouldn't face the rejection in worrying that nobody except close family who had to come would bother.

Speaking of invites, I've mocked them up in Publisher before sending to Vistaprint. What do you think?

I'd have loved to get fancy pocketfolds with inserts, but at £150 for self-assembly I had to draw the line somewhere. Not sure what to do about RSVPs, yet. I'm planning on sending out the invites with Christmas cards to save on postage.

I had my second dress fitting last weekend. It's starting to take shape, although it's still pinned together. She draped the lace around me so I could take a picture. It's not exact, but it's nice to see what it could look like.

    What do you reckon?

    Important things still not sorted:
    - DJ
    - Hair
    - Bouquets
    - Veil
    - Tablecloths
    - Music for drinks reception
    - Drinks for drinks reception
    - Banns
    - Starlit backdrop

Photobooth is now decided on, I'm just seeing if they can do me a discount.

I want to enjoy planning but I feel like I have no time...
  • The dress will be stunning once it's finished being fitted, absolutly gorgeous!

Arghhhhhhhh, I wrote a big post on Monday night and now I can't see it, I must have not have pressed send! What an idiot! :(

I some how did the same as you!! Typed a response & it deleted or i didn't send it??

Somethingblue - it sounds like you are really well organised! I really must go through my to do list although it feels like for every thing I cross off, I add at least 4 more :o.

I am actually the same with my list. It just keeps growing. It feels good ticking things off. I am very much a list person. Coming on here helps remind me of things too!!

Well, my dress arrived yesterday! I had the sneakiest of peaks at work and then took it to mums afterwards, it is absolutely spotless! I think she could have sold it to me as being new and I would never have known, there is not a single mark on it that I can find. The only evidence is that the wrist hoop for the train is worn and it's pulled a bit of the netting underneath. I never tried the dress on with a hoop either and I have to say the hoop really makes it, I spent ages standing on a stool 'swishing' it! Mum did a pretty good job of lacing it up too, it literally just fits at the moment, I could do with losing a stone for it to fit nicely and without the modesty panel being right at the end but hopefully that will be relatively do-able. I have put on almost half a stone in 6 weeks from not smoking and I am sure I can lose that before xmas which will be a good start.

Glad you are happy with your dress:j. It sounds fabulous. Where did you get it from?

I empathise with you about quitting smoking. Well done you!! I gave up just over 3years ago now and gained 2stone. I have lost nearly all of it now. I did it gradually and it has stayed off easy. I didn't do a diet as i seem to crave all naughty things as soon as i declare it. I found being sensible & living a healthier lifestyle easier. Keep up the good work and try not to get disheartened.

Other than that, I am currently flapping about how to have my hair :(, I have spent hours looking at pictures and websites but I can't find the exact one, I just hope my hairdresser has some ideas when she visits me in January!

I think i know how i would like my hair but i admittedly have not seen a picture either. Do you have your accesories? Veil? Tiara? I think sometimes it helps knowing what you don't want. I am sure your hairdresser will have lots of lovely ideas for you to try during the consultation. Plenty of time to think or see something.

Well done all. We are all doing pretty well with minimal stress i hope!!!! Thank you as always for keeping the thread going, you lovely ideas and words of support.

Hi all hope your all doing ok?

Got my first dress fitting on weds and so nervous :(

Kinda sorted my bm presents but want to leave it ant week or two to check some other options out.

Getting seriously frustrated over the honeymoon. I really want to get it booked but can't as most places will only let you book 11 months in advanced we have 18 months to go still :( I just wanna get it sorted.

    Take care

Hi Butterfly, could they be table decorations, part of centre pieces or string them on thread to make a chain? They look very cute!

    lil_miss_insanity your invites look great.:T

sk00bie, glad your dress payment got sorted :)

Hope all the dress fittings go well. My dress is now in the shop waiting for the new year before it goes to the seamstress.

    Best wishes to all!

  • Hi Ladies,

I've bought some table trinkets (from a wedding buy and sell group on fb), spent a grand total of £5 for enough sprinkles to cover 10 tables and 10 mirror plates :) Also booked in time with my florist & organised a tasting with the caterers.

So much still to do tho!

Just thought I'd post a quick pic of our invites, which we finally finished and sent out over the last two weeks.

I have still not got my wedding mojo back though!
