PANIC.
Like big time.
I'm just stressing about money, can someone calm me down?! Lol!
Basically, my mum has kindly offered to pay our venue fees, so I don't need to worry about food and stuff like that. But we still seem to have loads to pay and with Xmas coming round quickly, I'm really struggling to think how we'll afford this. We still have to pay:
About £150 or so on the rings.
Rest of the registrar fees, only paid deposit.
Flowergirl outfit.
Hair and make up.
Grooms accessories.
Rest of suits (about £250)
Flowers
DJ
Rest of invitations (about £90)
Decorations
Favours
The rest of our minimoon (about £700)
Photographer (£1600!!!!!!)
I also don't have any of my accessories like veil and tiara, thankfully have shoes.
Why have I been so stupid?! I am in such a tizz right now...

It will be find you will find a way but howcome your photographer is so much that seems alot? We are paying £600ish but you probably have a totally differnt package.
You could save money on the flowergirl outfit maybe in the Jan sales?
Could you make your invitations to save alittle?
I dont think i'm helping, not sure what to say really other than i'm sure things will fall into place.0 -
Glad you got the dresses Faith, that's a big thing to cross off the list and sounds like a great price too! :j
Hi, thelittlestranger, not sure if you were just venting or asking advice but it's obviously hard to comment without knowing what you are comfortably able to put aside towards the wedding between now and then. I have a few suggestions that might help?
Veil and Tiara - hit Ebay hard, I got a brand new ivory pencil edge elbow length veil including postage for £12 and have seen hundreds of tiaras on there for similar prices.
Favours - can you go without or do something home-made to cut the cost right down?
Flowers - artificial maybe? They tend to be a lot cheaper than fresh.
Invites - seriously, pound shop? Or use Vistaprint and get some free ones or postcards? You can always add embellishments to jazz them up a bit?
Obviously the big one - photographer, £1,600? Wow, that is a hell of a lot of money but I am sure you already knew that. If it includes photo albums could you ask if you could drop them for now and get them done at a later date? Or could you cut down the time they attend? I know photographer costs vary hugely but ours is £600 for all day and disc of everything edited and right to reproduce as we wish.
If you are on facebook try seeing if there is a local wedding swap shop for your area. I joined up to one and have got so much from there for next to nothing, also found my hair and make up lady, artifical florist, fresh florist, cake maker, stationery lady and caricaturist there.

Omg everyone has been so busy on here, well done girlies!
I've really nothing to do at the moment, I got my shoes in August, went for the pink brand, think they're called pretty. To be honest they've been lying in the boot of my car ever since
My two bridesmaids chose a lovely loulou bridal bridesmaid dress which are gorgeous so they're bought and paid for, they got the same brand of shoes as me, they have ones called lipstick.
I've paid €2000 off the hotel, and agreed the menu.
I got my invitations from vistaprint £3.86, I altered some large postcards as I didn't want weddingy looking invites.
But other than continuing to save and pay for things, I've literally nothing to organise.
Think I'm the most boring bride, all I do need to do is stop eating, am back at my heaviest and I need to lose a stone and a half for Christmas as my alterations start then :eek:0 -
Cathy.....I am sure there are a few of us wishing we could be in your position with not much to organise :rotfl:
Well, it's not been too bad a wedding-weekend! Today I decided to make 10 of the ceremony/evening invites which took me the best part of about 3/4 hours with all the embossing, gem sticking and ribbon cutting I needed to do! Now I need to design the inserts and get those printed....then think about the evening ones *gulp*
Also started my first sweet tree and have to say...I'm really pleased! Unfortunately since the last glue gun exploding and now, 5 ferrero rocher and a pack of eclairs have just vanished and I didn't have enough sweets to finish the tree (:o) so it's work in progress. Really was not that difficult though so most of my family will be receiving them for xmas gifts and thank yous
Have messaged my hair & make up lady as she is booking trials in the new year and just waiting to hear back from her with a suitable date. Also made contact with a lady who does some amazing glass painting, thinking of things for the bridal party and mums. Ordered my post box during the week and have messaged the lady who did my other stationery bits and she is making me two new signs for the grand total of £5 - she charges far too little! Also bought loads of brightly coloured mesh flowers and butterflies to decorate bits and bobs and my 50 cellophane sweet cones have arrived....hmm, might have too much food at the reception!
As we are not asking for gifts I came up with this idea of having tips for a happy marriage/jokes/anecdotes...when I was in hobbycraft last week I noticed they had a papier mache treasure chest so I am going to buy one, paint it Ivory and decorate it. I've ordered some large patterned gift tags from Ebay and am going to ask our reception guests to write something on a tag and put it in the chest, we will then open it on our 1st anniversary. I'll probably put a line about it in our wedding invites so people remember to do it!
Have to work next Saturday but will hopefully get to finish the sweet tree and start another one, will post pics once it is done
