Faith, glad you're feeling better and jtr, glad your planning and budgeting are going well!
Doing a couple of weddingy things this week - going in to pay the remaining balance of my dress on Friday and have a look at it (although not try it on!). On Sunday we are hopefully finally meeting with the venue stylists, after putting it off a few times for various reasons. Have had an email from the florists about arranging a meeting to discuss the flowers in more detail.
The weight loss is going well so far (touch wood!) - have lost 9lbs now in just over 2 weeks. I know it won't continue at that rate but it feels really positive and I'm even starting to let myself picture what it would be like to NOT be fat on my wedding day! I can dream! Mind you I have a heck of a long way to go before I'm not fat...but I'll settle for being much less fat.
Hope all my fellow April (and March!) brides are having a great week!0 -

Morning all,
I really shouldn't be posting as work is CRAZY but I need a few minutes break before my head explodes!
Had a good meeting with the artifical florist last night, it was nice to be able to see which ones look most real. Have decided on a posie of cerise and burnt orange gerberas, some pale pink orchids and purple lisanthemums, the stem will be bound in Ivory organza with wired hot pink pearls and my daughter is having the same. We couldn't use artificial gerberas for the mens buttonholes as they are too big (especially with them not weaing jackets) so have gone for an orange cala lily for the groom and pink ones for the best man and my brother. Just waiting for the quote to come through.....
Standing in her front room holding this bouquet was the first time I have really felt like a bride and made it all feel suddenly real :rotfl:. Was hoping to get the rest of my invites embossed yesterday as I was off but just didn't get time. I ordered the ribbon for them Monday so hoping it arrives today and I can start them this weekend :rotfl:
PS - the weather better not be like this in April!

I agree with this soo much. Little concerned as this year it snowed in Scotland on the 26th & 28th of April :(First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
See, in some ways I would love snow but I know it must be a nightmare for suppliers (although maybe they are more used to it in Scotland than we are down here!).
I had my quote through.........and I was REALLY shocked....in a GOOD way :j. I had budgeted £120 and was adamant it was going to be over £100 and the quote came through at £71 for the lot, I am soooo pleased with that and I have got exactly what I wanted.
Got my ribbon today and have just finished off my first invite, well ok, the outside, I still need to design the inside but I am really pleased with it, it's exactly as I saw it in my minds eye when I was doing my (Second) design. I think I know what I will be doing this weekend....

I wouldn't mind snow but I hate being cold
I really hope it's a gorgeous spring day but I am not holding my breath lol
Glad your invites are turning out ok and that your quote was so goodFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -

Ooh, can you PM me the details for your florist? I've been looking for a good artificial florist?0 -

Well done! :j I seem to be ever increasing in weight. I'm not huge, but I'm bigger than I ever have been and it's bothering me. I saw a lovely pic of me and my best mate on hen weekend and all I could think was 'moon face' and 'turning into my mother.' I shouldn't complain, but I'm worried of seeing my wedding photos and thinking the same.Ok in a MUCH better mood this week
OH finally got his holiday approved... for the WRONG week!!!
I'm just waiting for a response from my caterer to see if she is ok moving our meeting date again (poor woman) for the SECOND time! Bloody men why can't they listen!
Glad you're feeling better. I know what it's like having an OH that constantly double books himself and forgets what he's doing. It's like living with Frank Spencer sometimes! Once he locked himself out, came 12 miles to my work on the bus, got a copy of my keys cut, got home and realised he'd cut the wrong keys, so I had to do a 90 minute detour before a 4 hour drive to my mum's. Boys, eh! :rotfl:0 -
Just ordered BM dresses :j:T:j:T
And they were on sale :T:j:T:j
And I came in way under budget was willing to pay £200 per dress all dresses £168
