Hi, can I join in here as well please? There's really not a lot going on in the May thread, I don't want to be talking to myself!

We're getting married in Vegas on 12 May next year, our parents are coming. We've not invited anyone else, in fact we haven't really told anyone (just a couple of friends each). We want to keep it quiet as we don't want people trying to talk us into things we don't want. We're another pair going to Mexico as well for our honeymoon, parents will just fly home from Vegas.

As we're going abroad there's not anywhere near as much to do for us. I've ordered dress (LOVE it) but not got first fitting until February - yours have come in very early I think! Also got shoes and jewellry which I also love, am so happy with what I've got so far. Haven't got undies or rings sorted yet though.

Well, my wedding co-ordinator better not be going on Maternity leave or I'll have a BIG problem because that person is me!! :rotfl:

Had a good old b1tching session with my mum and SiL today when we went out for dinner, so glad that my side of the family are so easy going :).

Managed to get an appointment for Tuesday with artificial flower lady, was starting to get worried as hadn't heard from her for a month and she said she would contact me after doing her next 3 orders and I heard nothing! Was getting to the point where I was starting to think I should go with someone else as that doesn't bode well but decided to drop her a message as she is local and she replied straight away to apologise and say she had forgotten she was supposed to be confirming as normally it's the other way around. She seems really nice so thought I would go and speak to her about designs.

Also managed to book myself in with my cake lady for next Wednesday after work, she's lovely too but always MEGA busy because she is so reasonable (A 3 tier cake for £99!). Can't wait to chat through some ideas with her....and get some free samples ;)

FINALLY decided on my sweet things, I am going to do a couple of sweet trees for the buffet table - ones with wrapped sweets so I can glue them and then I'm am tasking myself with doing 50 sweet cones, can't be that hard can it? By the wedding I will have around £50 worth of Tesco vouchers so will use those to buy loads of sweets and just do them myself. Other people charge around £1.50 a cone so that's a big saving and then I don't have to worry about trying to make flying saucer sweets trees! Am hoping to get all my sweets over Xmas/new year providing they are dated long enough :D

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

I have said outright but not sure if Laura is as happy to give away her location...but it's in Hertfordshire... (This where you say you're in Scotland or something!)

Haha I'm not in Scotland but I'm not in hertfordshire either so looks like it's just a coincidence. in a weird way I'm slightly disappointed lol.

When I say wedding co-ordinator though, she's only doing the stuff at the venue (i.e. food, run of the day) so planning the entire thing (which I know some do) which means I'm not too worried.

Yes ours is the same and I have never even met her (her junior showed us around when we picked the venue) so I'm not that bothered!

Ok in a MUCH better mood this week :)

Thank you all for your support last week it was greatly appreciated!!

Glad everyone seems to be doing ok

JTR I can't believe how cheap your cake is! Mine is about £400 but it's soooo pretty & my mum is paying for it (Good old mum)

OH finally got his holiday approved... for the WRONG week!!!

I'm just waiting for a response from my caterer to see if she is ok moving our meeting date again (poor woman) for the SECOND time! Bloody men why can't they listen!

Once I know she is ok with it then I need to contact minister and see if she can move appointment too. Seeing if I can get a lady who does balloons to come over and see me & get a trial session in with my hairdresser while I'm at my mums.

Got confirmation that my extended holiday has been approved so that was a HUGE weight off my mind. I have a friend coming over from Canada for the wedding he's spending a week with us in Scotland so he's rested before the wedding then he's coming back with us to London for the week after as OH is going straight back to work & I wanted to show him the sights.

So pleased to hear you are feeling better this week :D. Sounds like all the appointment changing is a PITA. I think after next week I won't have anything until Jan (I booked our appointment with the registrar to get our choices pack etc today, will be on 17th Jan).

I don't think my cake will even come to £100 as I am having a little 6" cake and 40 cupcakes I think. Makes up for the fact I have ordered a custom topper (but haven't heard anything for a while so might have to chase it up next month).

Spent a while updating the budget spreadsheet this morning but know i have missed some stationery bits. Think we are just under £4000 at the moment but that includes a bit of contingency for my dress alterations and gifts etc. I know I also have quite a few bits I can sell quite easily if I needed to but I think our original budget was around £4,100 but that was without the flowers and caricaturist so if we are somewhere close to that I will be happy :)

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D
