  • Well I finally found the ONE yesterday and ordered my wedding dress!! It's gorgeous, totally perfect! Was starting to really panic as a lot of people said I was pushing it for time, but the lady in the bridal gallery was fab and said it should be here in Jan!!
So for all the other April brides out there who haven't found their dress yet - don't panic!!!
Now for the bridesmaid dresses!!!! Trying to find a style that would suit an adult bride and a teen, but am really struggling! Different designs might have to be an option, but both in chiffon. Anyone had any similar problems or can offer any suggestions?!! I'm a purple bride too - cadbury purple - but finding the right shade in bridesmaid dresses is a nightmare!!! Anyone managed to find any for them???

You've all been so busy! I was a little bit crafty at the weekend and we have bought our wedding rings!!!! OH went in the shop beside the jewellers and I went for a nose in there. He came in to find me and that was it! lol
We also got one of our bridesmaids dresses and a pageboy outfit in the BHS sale last week.So that's some other things ticked off our list.

Our honeymoon has been put on hold for a while as I found out that I was pregnant. The baby is due in 3 and a half months so I will have time to lose baby weight before the wedding. Neither of us want to leave the baby being so young while we go away. So I think we will leave the honeymoon until the following year.

April is getting so close now, not long for any of us!

Omg how exciting!! Can we see a link to the dress.....? :j

How old is your teen? I have a teen bridesmaid but she's 16 and has been wearing adult cloths for years so it's not really an issue...we have gone with a simple BHS dress. Our BM dresses are purple but lighter, not Cadbury's purple.

We're not having our honeymoon till 2014 so not worth booking yet but we know what we are doing.

We're going to San Fransico, LA (OH isn't keen but I am :) ), Vegas & Hawaii.

It's mainly so we can go to things like Alcatraz & Pearl Harbour as we're both into history (We're totall geeks) Plus I really want to see the Hoover Dam & the Grand Canyon.

Just hope OH work let him go lol

Yay your trip sounds great :) (I feel as though we've had this discussion before though?! Lol!) Alcatraz is brilliant although it was the cause of the closest OH and I have ever come to breaking up recently..lol don't ask!

Well done on finding the dress sexybabe! It's great when you find something you love :)

I had absolutely LOADS of parcels arrive this week, my veil arrived and is lovely, a real bargain for £13. My stationery bits arrived too so I just have to tape them all together and start designing them, still got a few bits to come from Hong Kong though so will be a few weeks yet. My reception plaques were posted yesterday so am hoping I will get them today :D

I found a nice Ivory dress in BHS for my daughter, she originally wanted purple but is going to try it on to see if it fits ok, just waiting for a text as I think she was going into town with nan today so if they have one there she will try it.

Re-ordered some save the dates today from good old Vistaprint as my old ones are now null and void. Had paperwork from registry office for new ceremony date and time and also documents for honeymoon.

    Getting there!

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

Ooh exciting! Where did you get your veil from?

We are on hold with the veil until my dress comes into the shop as I really wanted to wear my mum's wedding veil (which she made by hand when she was a blushing young 21 yr old bride, I think it's so romantic!) but it's white and my dress is ivory. I'm not convinced it will make a difference as the veil is so sheer anyway, but we will need to see. If it doesn't work, she will make me one in ivory, but I really wanted to wear hers!

Just a warning about BHS dresses, they come out TINY. OH's daughter is a bit of a busty size 12-14 and she ended up having to get an 18! My other BMs had to each go up one size too. It's not a big deal but worth being aware of especially if your daughter is at a delicate age likely to have her self esteem battered by having to get a dress in a larger size!

I hope you don't mind me being nosy and tell me to mind my own business...but does your daughter live elsewhere from you? Just wondering from some of the things you say.

Hope the dress works out! BHS dresses are lovely and such a bargain :D

The veil was an Ebay bargain! It was brand new, a two tier ivory one with a pencil edge and elbow length. The lady selling it had ended up with a white dress so had bought a new one. It came with the original invoice, a little hanger and the original box :)

The BHS dress was actually just one of their teenagers formal dresses so is done in ages but I had a call at lunch from my mum to say they were in a different shop and Lauren had found a lovely purple dress and it was £24 should they buy it! They sent me a pic and it's really lovely, it's knee length with ruching down the front and has a bow running across the chrst into the single shoulder strap. It's a lovely deep purple and she loves it so I have told them to get it.

My stationery arrived too, it's lovely although the post man has whacked the edge. I think I can manage with it as I will put the plaque in a photo frame.

    LOL, stop being nosey....

But yes, she lives with my mum, a slightly different situation to most but it's been this way for a while and it works :).

It's not really wedding related but I am dead chuffed as I got my exam results this morning and have passed another two meaning I only have one left in December now and as long as I pass I will be fully qualified before I get married! :j
