What's great about it, apart from the £5, is that it is free to withdraw cash abroad. They charge interest from the date of withdrawal, but that is still a lot less than a withdrawal fee.
I also have a H@lifax Reward CC which is very good for cash withdrawals abroad, like what GG has pointed out. To avoid interest, I just transfer the money into the CC account before travelling abroad and withdraw it from abroad. So far, I have never had a problem with OPing in advance the CCMortgage: @ Feb. 2007: £133,200; Apr. 2011: £24,373; May 2011: £175,999; Jun 2013: ~£97K; Mar. 2014 £392,212.73; Dec. 2015: £327,051.77; Mar. 2016: ~£480K; Mar. 2017 £444,445.74

That's good to know - they expressly say you can't go into credit, so good they don't enforce it. Mind you, this year we've been playing catch up the whole time so haven't had the cash in advance anyway.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Ok thanks Edinburgher, GallyGirl and DawnW for all your comments - that's good to know.

Fantastic - the thread has become money hack central in my absence
Last day of my p-t job today, celebrating with a non-MFW takeaway and glass of wine. That said, the money's only there because we're running 20% behind our allocated food budget, which is the sort of virtuous circle I liiiiiiike! :rotfl:
Absolutely zonked, but made token £1 payments to the OP Pot and EF and have a few more eBay bidders. It's nuts, currently have 13 watchers on one item - get bidding people!
Meeting up with my little sister tomorrow, looking forward to all the goss and a chance to ask her if she's on the MFW path yet.0 -

Up bright and early - have done the dishes, tidied up the flat and will take down the rubbish after breakfast. Now time for some coffee and some gentle morning MFW.
I have withdrawn £9.50 from GreenMetropolis (I guess I'll need to wait for next summer's holiday rush to earn more) and topped it up with a few £. £5.75 into both the OP Pot and the EF0 -
Have a good day MrE0
