Congrats for your bids! Very strange behaviour from Sky man. I was told by an agent that she could do me a deal on the phone (which she did) and to ring up in the week to get a better deal on the TV which I did and they flatly refused to believe that I'd been told that?! I'm still fairly happy with the price we pay for everything though so I've given up trying.

Is Plusnet a cable thing? I don't think we can get that where we live.

    Well done for bidders!

perhaps you haven't quite got the knack, Ed?

While I realise my own limitations re. influencing, I know when someone has room to budge. This guy wasn't going to offer anything, he was in 'humouring' mode :p

ADSL broadband, will come through the copper wires for the phone.

Now three items with bidders, one of them with multiple bidders

It has also come to my attention that it's less than 10 weeks 'til :santa2:

Argh! Got our first bill for Npower and we owe them £82!

I suppose that's not horrendous for 170 days, but I'm concerned that our DD is for too small an amount and that our energy saving measures aren't working as well as I'd hoped :( I may try and find a reliable (and cheap) energy meter off eBay or similar, I'm starting to wonder whether or not my aquarium is proving a massive energy hog :o

I'll need to carry out our broadband switch tomorrow, I can get cashback through my credit card, but the tiny limit is a bit of a pain. Ah well, I suppose I should be patient in the pursuit of free money ;)

Sent off 3 Amazon returns, £6 into both the OP Pot and the EF.

We ended up switching back to the dreaded Scottish Power (on a fixed rate tariff, so we shouldn't get stiffed with any price rises until 2014 at the earliest). I'd rather have gone with First Utility, but they don't appear to be in my area. £42.42 cashback, should save a few £ a month and I can forget about it for 18 months :)

My crazy OP tinkering/posting barrage continues :p

Reduced the monthly DD for my S&S ISA, this will add an extra £27.50/mth to both the OP Pot and the EF contributions.

Is it too early to be checking eBay for the day?
  • No, Im home from work, so already checked!

Got water bill, its DD, gone down 11.50, have redirected money....

Whilst redoing stsnding order noticed overdrawn ... so soon... eekk, moved some EF pot to cover hole in CA.

That's good :) Remember to pay back your EF at some point!

*Edit: Now got watchers/bidders on 11/15 items. I'd like more bidders and less watchers, but can't complain.

Sold a cheapy DVD on Amazon, £1 each in the OP Pot and the EF. I'm effectively paying myself, think the net profit is something like 40p for the DVD after postage :o

Posted my Amazon DVD on the way to work and actually got in a good bit early. The kids are all on holiday in our neck of the woods and for some reason, this means less buses. Not saying bus drivers don't want to spend time with their children, but surely you'd need at least the same amount of buses to cope with all the parents taking their kids out for the day?

Switched our phone line and broadband to PlusNet who had a pretty competitive tariff. £38.38 cashback, £3.73 cashback for paying the line rental up front, £4/mth cheaper and prices fixed for a year :) As is the style, I will be adding the £4 to our regular OP and it should take 4 months off the term! :T

Just token payments today (get paid in a week). £1 to both the OP Pot and the EF.

    Have a productive day everyone.

    But it all helps!

Oh yes, productivity. End of lunch break for me then!
