The boiler is serviced and is in 'good nick' for an old boiler. Good news there then :T Unfortunately, the gas man got hissed at by dear sweet Colin
The gas man was quite taken with Colin and tried to stroke him only to be hissed at:o Something about him obviously frightened the cat as he stayed under the bed all night.
years ago we had a little tabby who was the most friendliest cat - purr, roll over for a tickle and rub round anyone's legs. In the garden one day I heard the gate being opened and little tabby running up the path to greet yet more legs as was her habit . She stopped about 6 ft in front of the group of three, back arched tail like a bottle brush and hissing like I had never seen before..........turned out group of 3 where Jehovah's WitnessesBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

hi there I've read through your diary and you are an inspiration, I really hope you get your house sold, and you can get back to your beloved Captain.
I loved the stories you gave us about your animals. I once had a cat called Lucy, was going to keep her as a house cat because where we lived was really busy with cars. We moved house so we decided to let her out, so we decided to take her to the vet to get dressed. When I took her to the vet, the vet said she was a boy!!!!!!! she was about 18 months old by this time, and I couldn't change the name, and I never could get round to calling her him. She was a tabby and she was a beautiful cat, then one day she went out and never came back. I was devastated.
Oh and there's nothing wrong with the name Colin. A girl I used to go to school with had a cat called Jennifer lol.
I sincerely wish you all the best.0 -
I've been naughty. I've turned down a viewer for the house who wanted to see it at 9:00am on bank holiday Monday
Apparently the only time they can make it. If they are really looking for somewhere they will find the time. I hope I haven't turned away the only person who will buy my house, but I get so little time to myself these days.
Coffee shop will add my pay to next week's money, pain but acceptable.
Created a stir at the new job alreadyby changing the food slightly
improving it actually! Double cooked the chips making them crispy and light instead of soggy and greasy and added simple seasoning to the toasted sandwiches. Lots of compliments and more importantly a couple of tips :T The chap who does alternate shifts to me won't be too thrilled as he reckons he's a great cook, but I've decided to not mention what I'm doing. He can run a 'greasy spoon' I'm not going to!

Last evening shift at work this evening and tomorrow is my precious day off. Not sure what to do with it yet, maybe I will go and see my beloved....
Not at all wrong for turning down a viewing, I am a big believe in if something is meant to be it will happen one way or another. So if the viewers can only make that time then it obviously not meant to be!
Enjoy your day off, "me" time is also a must today even if it involves Colin! :rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl:I love the bottle brush tail look, normally Colin has a stringy tail but it puffs up quite magnificently :rotfl:alwaysworried wrote: »hi there I've read through your diary and you are an inspiration, I really hope you get your house sold, and you can get back to your beloved Captain.

Hello always worried, how kind of you to pop in, make yourself at home!
You've just reminded me that when I was a little girl we had a female dog called Rufus. My mum couldn't tell the difference and it was only when the vet said 'that's a funny name for a b*tch' that all became clear :rotfl::rotfl:Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

I have four viewers coming to see the house this week  In a flurry of panicked housework and decluttering I have used up two rolls of dustbin sacks, filled one huge sack of clothes for Return to Earn and grown Mount eb@y with items for selling. Never has the house looked so clear and clean. I've even buffed up the kitchen worktops and cleared out under the bed [not that I expect anyone to be looking under there] There are now nearly emptied cupboards and clear sides. It looks like a tatty showhouse :rotfl:Hopefully, this means it will be easy to tidy before anyone arrives.
The Captain is well and bright green after all the rain on Saturday, he must have done a lot of rolling in preparation for my arrival, thanks for that :rotfl:I'm thinking of selling his saddle, he won't be ridden again and I do need the money. If I pop on his back it will be without a saddle and only just for a hug really. I didn't get his rugs on eb@y this weekend, will save them for another free listings day. I now have 26 items listed, not many bids though.
My DD is coming home next week :j:jit's been a year since I've seen her. Unfortunately, I can't get any time off from my jobs so I'll have to work something out. I'm working evenings next week so will have some time in the day and I can always take her gardening!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
