So poor I can't even pay attention

Boo hiss to people who want to view who think that their time is more valuable than yours. We moved in March, and I can't tell you how many times I had to tell the EA, no I can't do a viewing between 9am and 5pm on a weekday, I'm at work
one of the viewers took video footage of each and every room, even though I asked her not to in the room I use to use as a home office, grr.
I ended up part exing for a new build, all of a sudden the EA's started doing the viewings themselves, I just had to take the dog out.
Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

I absolutely hate having strangers go round my house, really hate it. It feels all wrong.
At the moment I'm concentrating on decluttering and making things look more spacious. I'm also making sure there's less of me on show, if that makes any sense. I don't want strangers to see the inner me.
I don't think any of the above makes much sense, I can't articulate what it is I'm feeling, it probably sounds like I've been drinking, but I haven't!
Tomorrow is an early start so I won't be on here until much later. I have a plumber coming round for a quote on mending the half sink in the kitchen. I know not to use it, but I think I ought to get it fixed for the future. I've already had one quote which I'm hoping was astronomical rather than the norm....Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Granny x
I know, it's gone so fast. It's a year since the Bear died too and nearly a year since Colin arrived too.
You know granny, there weren't any dust bunnies under my bed.....more like dust dragons. Huge. I've been trying to remember when I last did it. I'm thinking maybe I've never done it.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Are saddles expensive?
You might want to keep it as a keepsake?
It's rather a large keepsake and I may not have space for it when I move. It's not a particularly expensive saddle, but it's in very good condition. I have plenty of photos of him so I don't need anything like a saddle round me.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

I don't think any of the above makes much sense, I can't articulate what it is I'm feeling, it probably sounds like I've been drinking, but I haven't!. Every time I had a viewing that didn't result in an offer I felt it was a slight on me and how I lived my life
.
Earlier this year I found pictures of my place in Spain as interior shots on an estate agents ad for apartments next to mine - the builder had saved them from a website I used to use when I rented out. I felt violated - fine to have them out there when I chose to, but I hated people being able to see the inside of my little place, even if they didn't know what they were looking at. Took 2 weeks to get them removed and I was really upset. (None of the apartments have sold so don't know whether to be pleased or feel rejected all over again :rotfl:).
Sell the saddle and earmark the money for something special in your new home - maybe a comfier-than-a-saddle chair.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Yes, do sell the saddle, speaking from one who still has her boy's saddle I can assure there are trends in saddles as much as clothes and mine is now so dated it is unsellable but back in the day it would have been worth a few hundred quid.
Also have you considered putting advert up re rugs in local saddlery / feed merchant etc? Might be cheaper than Bay of E and faster? You can always say pics available on request or similar.
Well done with the clearing, and YIPPPEEEEE to the return of DD. :j:beer:
You do realise now Colin has a new space to play in and cause chaos for you of an evening? :rotfl:
I know what you mean about personal items, I used to take all the pictures of me / people and animals down to give some anonymity to my house when selling .... and no clothes etc on view - just needed the little bit of protection I felt it gave. Did make me feel very vulnerable somehow, but a necessary evil I think.:oStart info Dec11

I am another one who quite understands about the feeling of invasion of privacy - selling a house is, as misslr says, a necessary evil. I had to sell my lovely cottage when I got divorced, could not move all my stuff out in time and the buyers arrived and hung around as I sweatily and angrily heaved out the last bits. It was really horrible! Glad to say that was years ago, life has moved on and am now in another lovely house and very happy. Hang on in there Piq - it's just means to a (very worthwhile) end. xx0

Hey Piq!
Yay :j to the news DD is coming home.
mmm, I really wouldn't be good with the 'strangers' around the house bit either. Only had to do it once, but had already 'technically' moved out of the house, so the attachment to the house wasn't there. Plus there was little or no stuff for rude folk to rifle through or comment on  But I do get the 'invasion of privacy' feeling. I was having some work done here and the local busy body just waltzed into the house to find out what the workmen were here to do  And no, not out of concern that I was being burgled or something, just being bl**dy nosy!
Anyway, I hope you find a way to manage the viewings and I hope THE buyer is amongst them
Keep your chin up.

I feel better knowing it's not just me being strange, it is an invasion of privacy and almost a violation. I know I need to get on with it, so get on with it I will. But I don't have to like it....
I've double checked and I know I haven't got my dates muddled the viewers who have just left weren't supposed to be here until tomorrow:mad: There was I with my jacket potato and a recording of Supernatural when there's a knocking at the door and Mr and Mrs Thingy and their hyper-active child are waiting to be shown around. Just as well I did the massive tidy/clean up yesterday. Bl**dy child was jumping all over the sofa like it was a trampoline, pulling books off the bookshelves and generally making me fantasize about slapping it, sorry to child lovers everywhere. Poor Colin was terrified and now won't come out from under the bed, not even for cheese
Why don't people discipline their children? Teach them respect? Manners? I think the rendering or lack of it is going to put them off
So I have another viewing tomorrow and two on Thursday and the EA is bringing someone else around on Saturday.
Thanks gallygirl, missrlr, the cake and GP for your support, it means a lot to me. I'll be so glad when it's over. I see now why moving house is listed as one of the most stressful things in life and I haven't even moved yet :rotfl:Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
