You are all so good to me. Thank you.
I feel so much better having dropped a priority down a stage or so. I can now concentrate on learning the new job.
It's got to be said, the new job is boring, with a capital B. Very few customers. On the positive side, I tried out my phone there last night and provided I take the photos beforehand, I will be able to eb@y. Also on the positive side I will be making massive savings on food as I will be able to eat there for free, did I mention I was doing the cooking too? :rotfl:
The new trainers were very comfortable last night, never thought about my feet, back or hips, other than to wish my hips were smaller :rotfl:So a success, well done Cl@rks, thank goodness their shoes are nicer than they used to be though!
Today is the penultimate shift at the coffee shop, it's going to be hard going after an evening working, but needs must and I am being paid for the time at the new job even though I haven't started yet.
An all time record of seven, yes seven, items listed on eb@y  Not one bid, mind :rotfl:Already have another half dozen items sorted for 99p starts. And so the decluttering continues...
Is it just my house or does anyone else have dead flies all over their window sills? Any that are foolish enough to fly low get eaten by the resident eating machine, but there are fly corpses all over the place.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

A good plan I think to take one thing at a time, no need to stress yourself more than is absolutely necessary.
Gardened this morning, we have had quite a bit of nice steady rain in my bit of the "middle of the country", ground moist and nicely workable, plants and weeds all putting on a spurt of growth, but rain not been heavy enough to bash everything about thank goodness. Bee pot emptied, the Pinks had gone over, they have been planted out and I am off to try and find something else to put in the pot and look for some small stepping stones to put in my big borders, so I can get to the back of them without putting a hoof on other plants.
My memory is not great, so once the foliage has disappeared I forget where bulbs are planted and keep digging them up, think I am going to have to put plant labels in to mark them.
I hope that your day goes well.:D
Morning Maddie:wave:
Try some lavender, bees love it. Just needs chopping back to stop it going woody. It'll last a few years. I did some pots of lavender for my blind lady. I lined them up along her steps so she can brush along them as she goes in and out of her house.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

You've done exactly the right thing. And things will begin to slot into place. suzeesu2000 was right with the Rome analogy and well done you for seeing it.
What a good bunch of folk you have on your thread Piq (but you know that already).
Hope the new trainers are proving practical, comfortable and chic.
Plus I hope your dad is responding well with the dialysis treatment.
Edit: you'll find the recipe you requested up on my thread now

DFW, Mrs H and beanie - I'm in town today so will pop into the bank and be my most charming to see if I can avoid the charges. I've always avoided the texting option as I've been afraid they'd start calling me all the time about my overdraft. Perhaps it makes sense to sign up now...Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

 back to Piq
I thought about Lavender too, have 6 plug plants of an English and a packet of seeds of a French, so ended up buying a Yellow with Green striped Hosta, when we have stopped eating outside the plant can go in flower bed where they do well and the pot cleaned and kept safe until Spring, or might plant it with bulbs and keep it in greenhouse when frosty.
Lots of flies here too, but no furry exterminator!, the four legged one (as avatar) is terrified of them!, without realising it we frightened her by chasing the dammed things with the fly swat, she will not even eat her food if there is one in the room:(. We have always been careful not to wave our arms around too much, as we understand she was probably hit by her previous owners:eek: we now have to resort to fly murder when she is out of the room!
Hope you manage to stay dry, raining steadily here, forecast for most of day.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Morning all.
Think yourself lucky if you dont have a furry fly eater in the house!! Just imagine the scene: Laying in bed, at the point betwixt being awake and in a heavenly sleep and then !!!! the furry girl is bounding all over the bed and me trying to get the TINIEST insect which is fluttering on the ceiling!!! My girl is about 10" tall.......Boy does she have aspirations!! Oddly enough, during the daylight hours she barely pays them a passing glance.
Piq you are doing great, well done on the eBay listing.:T I promise it is not just you. Do you remember the decluttering challenge thread? I cleared over 1000 items. From a 2 bed house. no kids. We managed to raise quite a few pennies from selling our poop - amazing what some people will buy. I stolethe hint given to you about My Hermes and use them loads now - for just over a fiver with a signed for delivery I am a happy seller.
Hope you are planning to take a few hours out over the weekend Piq to calm yourself and get ready for next week - the start of a new adventure!! :T

Yeh, right! I wish Lady:D
Piq as you haven't got a thermometer for the yoghurt - have a read of Hugh F-W's method in THIS article. I followed it for the first 2 batches I made, and it works quite well. As long as you don't furiously boil the milk in the first place, you should get up to temp ok. Then as I say, depending on weather/heat of your kitchen, it takes approx. 30 minutes to cool to inoculation temp. I started checking after about 20mins. And there really is no need to scald you finger, as literally if it is too hot for you, then it is too hot for the 'friendly' bacteria.
Hope you've had a good day - but suspect you're tired beyond exhausted by now.
