Morning, glad you had a lovely weekend and the Captain behaved himself :) We used to take out shetland out with us all the time out hacking, fine until he stopped without warning and you nearly went of the back, still goes out now but where they are is semi private land so just trots along on his own behind :D

A bit of a spendy day I'm afraid. Twenty pots and twenty-five cardboard boxes, it had to be done. Can't earn money without pots to paint and I need something to send them off in. Luckily I have been given a roll of bubble wrap which has saved some money.

I gardened this morning, my dear old gentleman isn't very well, he is very frail. He was saying that he thinks his guardian angel has forgotten him :( I chopped up a huge heap of garden prunings for him and filled the brown bin, it's left a nice area for some salad vegetables I think. I will surprise him with some tomato, cucumber and pepper plants at the end of the month. And after I've dug the area over too! I've managed to come away with some Aquilega, Campanula and salvias, if I didn't take them he was going to dig them up himself! Stubborn old man :rotfl:

Mrs B's rose pot is looking very vintage, very different to any pot I've painted yet, hope she likes it ;) Other than that I've finished off two chicken pots and masked up three pots that will be black and have herb names painted on.

Just remembered.....I bought some coleslaw when buying pots :o I love coleslaw and knew I wouldn't have time to make it and had a strong yearning for it. So tonight it will be jacket potato with coleslaw and salad - yum :D

Hello, I am a lurker, so pleased that you had a good weekend with the Captain.

Just a thought, would it be worth putting a wanted on Freegle/Freecycle for used bubble wrap?, I think a lot of people are like me and hate throwing things away if they could be used by someone.

    Your pots sound lovely.

There are some funky flowerpots in the Interiors section of Closer this week, looks like you're bang on trend:

Have a look in the fruit and veg bits in supermarkets as they have bubble wrap in the bottom of the trays, they'll let you take them if you ask.

    Morning (ish!) Piq

http://www.favecrafts.com/Ornaments/Bird-Nest-Clay-Pot-Christmas-Ornaments/ct/1 (really brilliant crafters website - i have done loads of stuff from here)

Saw these and thought of you - aren't they fab!!

Was thinking: Xmas and filled with a robin perhaps? or maybe as a tree ornament outside in the garden or even the teeny tiny pots used as an Xmas decoration for the indoor tree? oh heavens, millions of ideas in my little head now!

Might even be something you could do during the non-gardening season to generate some extra pennies?

    Hello Piq, :hello:

So glad to read of your wonderful weekend with Captain (and kudos to Colin for walking on a cat-lead! :D).

And great news on the way Grasp the Nettle is growing, both the gardening and decorated pots - yay well done Piq! :D

..Also for boxes of course. The smaller ones from moving companies that people so often give away on Freegle/Freecycle, would be about the right size for pots.

Look into using a courier company rather than RM too; when selling on Bay of E, I found a firm that was significantly cheaper for sending anything heavier than a jiffy bag (and that was before RM's prices went up). <Will try and find the link.>
