Hello, I am a lurker, so pleased that you had a good weekend with the Captain.
Just a thought, would it be worth putting a wanted on Freegle/Freecycle for used bubble wrap?, I think a lot of people are like me and hate throwing things away if they could be used by someone.
Your pots sound lovely.
Hello Maddiemay :hello: lovely to see you. I will look on Freecycle for bubble wrap, you never know what you'll find on there.cazmanian_minx wrote: »Awwwwwwwww to the Captain's greeting - neither of mine would do that
There are some funky flowerpots in the Interiors section of Closer this week, looks like you're bang on trend:

Hey, they're good. Actually I'm not very good at the scripting. I can just about manage the name of the herbThese particular ones are black with the terracotta rim washed with white. Once they're planted up someone might like them, you never know!
Have a look in the fruit and veg bits in supermarkets as they have bubble wrap in the bottom of the trays, they'll let you take them if you ask.

I did this in @sd@ this evening, much to DS3's embarrassment :rotfl:I've got them saving me bubble wrap at Pr£t too, the fruit is wrapped in it. Obviously they think I'm weird too!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Hello Piq, :hello:
So glad to read of your wonderful weekend with Captain (and kudos to Colin for walking on a cat-lead!).
And great news on the way Grasp the Nettle is growing, both the gardening and decorated pots - yay well done Piq!
..Also for boxes of course. The smaller ones from moving companies that people so often give away on Freegle/Freecycle, would be about the right size for pots.
Look into using a courier company rather than RM too; when selling on Bay of E, I found a firm that was significantly cheaper for sending anything heavier than a jiffy bag (and that was before RM's prices went up). <Will try and find the link.>
Hello dearest robin :hello:
I will start the research on postage costs once I have a starting figure with the post-office. I will also know the packing costs by then too and can charge realistically.
I'm looking for boxes everywhere. I bought some this time as I need to get some of these pots out to their new owners. I took a picture of Mrs B's pot today with some pink roses in. One day I shall use it as part of my portfolio. It does look nice, I just hope Mrs B likes it too.
Here's the exciting news, today I have got another two clients :jBoth have come from the Pr£t customer who introduced me to my most recent client, the one I'm gardening for tomorrow. I popped into M&S and bought her a large bunch of tulips to say thank you, I can't believe how kind she has been. I'm seeing her before I start gardening. She sneaks me notes across the counter, I think she loves the subterfuge as she knows I'm not allowed to chat.
DS3 popped round this evening mainly to play pawball with Colin I think. He came armed with a tin of luxury cat food which Colin scoffed in about a minute flat. This is after a weekend of venison, smoked salmon and cream. Why is Colin overweight? Answers on a postcard....Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Hi Piquant.
Great news about the gardening business.
Couriers - have you heard of www.interparcel.com?
They are much cheaper than most.

Wow, this is brilliant news Piq! Does this take you up to 5 customers now? I'm really pleased for you.
My parents used to own a corner shop and people were always in asking them for boxes. They always had crisp boxes out the back to give to people. Little shops are usually happy to give away what would otherwise be waste as it saves them money. Worth a try...?- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

Wow Piq, just had a quick catch up and everything sounds like its going so well for you. I am sooo pleased
:D
Pots sounds fab, I am after black and white pots when we finally find the time to lay the decking in the garden . We have being trying to find the time for the last ten years but we are determined to spruce up the garden this year come what may, so I will let you know when I am in the market for new pots. Mrs B's vintage pot sounds fab, you may have to post up or send me a photo if you and Mrs B dont mind as its my nieces birthday soon and she loves all things vintagy and Cath Kids0n like, and is in the middle of sorting the garden in her new house at the moment.
Mr PG buys our bubblewrap on Ebay, it seems much cheaper although off the top of my head I cant remember what we will pay. I will take a look when I get a chance.
So happy that you had a lovely weekend with the Captain, must have made you so happy to spend some time with him.
I will try and catch up with your news more frequently I promise !

OK - aside from the free options (obviously the best for pocket and also the world!) try the big storage firms that do rental lock up type things, we have found these to be the best. I usually have loads at work but posting it to you might be a might of a mission, some of the "big pocket" stuff too. Sadly it is my therapy when I get stressed (so read every day in every way) so I tend to SQUISH and POP bubble wrap.
Colin is a talented cat, and no I can't see why he is fat, with all that exercise walking!!!
So please it is taking off!
Also although you may need a bit of research and I recommend A LOT of packaging city sprint or initial (same thing now I think) especially if you can do 3 day shipment rather than next day.Start info Dec11
