Another idea is to paint wooden bird houses, in this week's Essentials mag they have a craft section and they have painted some with stripes and others with spots on, they look easy to do, I might even do one for my garden.0

It's arrived!! In one piece, and it's fabulous. Very pretty.
The flowers are perking up after their journey.
Royal Mail clearly ignored your clear instructions as the stones were all out and the pots was covered in dirt! But it soon cleaned up.
Thank you, thank you, it will look fabulous on my Nan's garden.
I'll take a photo when it's there. X"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little." Edmund Burke

The Captain is well, happy and just a little bit portly  :rotfl:
As soon as he heard my voice he cantered down the field to see me, shouting loudly with poor little Noah in hot pursuit. The Captain just rested his head on my shoulder and breathed me in. I cried. Then I stuffed the two boys full of carrots, that won't help with the portliness I know, but what the heck! When it comes to carrots even if you are his best friend the Captain doesn't share, so Noah had to have his carrots from my friend as he was at risk of being squashed into the fence by a very large black and white bottom
We went for a hack in the sunshine, it was glorious. The Captain was very well behaved although he did keep trying to stop to snack in the hedgerow. Bearing in mind this is the first time he's been ridden since he moved and he was in unfamiliar surroundings with a horse he didn't know, I couldn't have asked for a better ride!
The second day we went out, Noah threw a hissy fit about the Captain leaving, he was having none of it and tried to stop the Captain leaving the field. My friend just laughed chucked a head collar and lead rope on him and Noah followed along behind :rotfl:
Not to be left out Colin went walkies in a cat harness. It has to be said he was a little surprised at it and did a fair bit of rolling around the floor at first. However once I took him outside he happily sniffed around the garden for an hour or so. He didn't like the yard, hardly surprising considering the size of the horses in comparison to him, so we stayed away from there.
I've cleared and planted out a substantial herb garden for my friend, complete with bay trees in pots within the start of a parterre garden. Luckily I had help digging out the lines, I'd still be there otherwise!
Now it's back to normality and I'm doing the plant hokey cokey. In at night and out during the day to harden them off until all risk of frost have gone. Quite hard work considering how many I've grown!
Today I'm off to garden for my older gentleman, hopefully he's feeling better this week. I then have the afternoon clear to work on my painted pots commission. I'm doing a rose pot. Talking of which, I must order some boxes for sending the pots out in. I've found somewhere that is reasonably priced. Somehow I don't think the postage will be though....Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

I need your help on the gardening! Maybe I should come and do one of your gardening courses. Shame you're such a long way a way.brizzledfw wrote: »Have a great time with the Captain and don't forget my pots!:-)

I haven't forgotten your pots Mrs B. Yours is the rose one I'm working on now. Chicken ones are awaiting sealing and non ordered boxes...Februarycat wrote: »Another idea is to paint wooden bird houses, in this week's Essentials mag they have a craft section and they have painted some with stripes and others with spots on, they look easy to do, I might even do one for my garden.
That's a good idea. I've seen quite a few wooden ones round, they seem to cost about £5. I'll look next time I'm in WilkosTotal debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

I'm glad you like it. The white stones were supposed to represent the white clouds. Hope the pansies recover, they're fairly resilient flowers.suzeesu2000 wrote: »Thanks Piq, but the idea is that you SELL the pots and make yourself some dish!!

I know that, but I'm not that confident in how good they are though. Still happy to do a pot for you....Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
