I use my slow cooker a lot and it is great to have a meal ready when you come in. Well done on the sale of the herb pots and preparing the new ones.
What a great find - a potting bench! That will be so useful when the weather improves - it must at some point! I sowed some more seeds today and apparently they need it to be cold to germinate - well the weather is ideal for them, if not for all of us!0 -
Toilet roll tubes cut in half make brilliant biodegradable pots for seeds too. Just stand them in a plastic tray & fill with compost. You don't have to remove the cardboard when potting on unless you want to as it will break down in the soil.
Please try free cycle for pots as there are always lots of people getting rid - especially early spring (haa haa!!) when gardens are being tidied etc.

great idea on the slow cooker! I love mine and use it loads for casseroles and curries, things like that but I think I should maybe branch out and use it for more...
Glad you're getting some of the gardening things sorted and good luck for your long shiftcarpe diem

Another tip for seedlings is using egg boxes. Again they will rot down in the soil (so long as they are not the polystyrene ones
).

I thought about getting one when I was doing a lot of motorway driving/traffic jams for work. I was too worried about over sprinkledge to actually get one!:rotfl:
I bought one of these as I am a climber/hill walker etc and also as I live between Scotland and England I live on the M6 oftenthey are such fun! It looks like you are a guy with your thing hanging out :rotfl:I hate it but it works! though it takes some getting used to *doing it standing up* LMAO
Ah dear, my hubby hates it, its PINK and so noticeable, but I've never been a shrinking violet eg. today I just went out grocery shopping to buy a leg of lamb for Easter. I chose to wear my bright blue Doc Martens with cut off jeans and a Barbour slung over my shoulder (its nippy out there!) and this woman in the store said to me as she looked me up and down 'Nice boots!":rotfl:I replied 'You don't looks like the sort of woman who would wear Doc's dear'she was canny old I think and she gave me a dirty look and said 'My son wore them when he was about 15' LOL
:rotfl:

I went to see the Captain and managed to forget my laptop cable
I'm back now though.
In some ways I wish I hadn't gone. My heart needed to see him, but now it feels broken. I miss him so much. I know he's a horse, but he's my family and not seeing him everyday is horrible. He is happy, very muddy, but happy. He likes Noah, doesn't like the ex-police horses, doesn't acknowledge the show horses and generally is being himself :rotfl:
I used my card to buy fuel to get there, which is not good. Now I am home painting five pots, pale yellow with black iridescent daisies, one pot is reversed, black with a yellow iridescent daisy. I will plant black pansies in the yellow pots and a pale yellow pansy in the black. I think it might work well as a selling point. Not that any of the pansies are big enough to plant up, let alone flower!
I haven't started painting the potting bench, it is still in bits in the garage. Can't find the heart to do it todayTotal debt at October 2008: £67,213.30
