Long time reader and subscriber here, coming out of lurkdom........
So glad the Captain is ok and with your friend.
Just to add to the onesie debate......I have 2 onesies, an open footed one which I combine with 2.5 tog socks and a fox one that my DH bought me with feet, a tail and hood! :rotfl: I don't wear them in bed but have to say they are incredibly warm for sitting down in the evening in, my living room is usually at about 17 degrees and I am never cold with wearing just my onesie. I bought my footless one at Tosco for about £10 and well worth it.
Back I go to lurkdom..........0 -
Oh Piq, what can I say? Hugs. Your lad is happy and settled, so much so that nothing has fazed him, and he is resolutely himself. Hang on to the fact that he is happy, if you can.
Good luck with the plant projects, when they get going in full swing. Some good ideas taking root there.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Thanks mcculloch, feeling a bit better now. I'm used to seeing him everyday. I've had a longer relationship with my horse than I did with my husband :rotfl:and happier too :rotfl:I know it's for the best, just hard that's all.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

As soon as I went into the garden it began to snow - again
and it's still bitterly cold. I swept up a few leaves and gave up.
So today I have:- Sealed three pots that were painted yesterday.
- Just to see what they would look like, painted three tin cans and stuck a spotty border to them. They will look nice in the herb garden I think. I will paint the names of the herbs on them when I plant them up
- Sown some basil, garlic chives and parsley seeds
- Made an apple and cinnamon toasted walnut open tart
- Made chilli butternut squash soup
- Done a miniscule amount of housework

sounds like a good day today0

I too, have done a miniscule amoount of housework today ! Spent two hours sitting out in my friends garden drinking coffee & putting the world to rights ! Been such a gorgeous calm warm day here !
Now Piq, stop worrying about the Captain, he sounds happy with his new best equine friend, and he will appreciate you all the more when you do get to go see him . Its difficult not to put human feelings onto animals (sure theres a clever name for that ) I know Im guilty of doing it with Doggit, Cats & our cows, But truly they dont have the same emotions as us, and as much as I like to think Doggit misses me when I go on holidays, I know she just transfers her love onto who-ever is filling her bowl & petting her on the sofa at night.
Our herd has increased by two newborns today, One a perfectly white male calf, who looks perfectly cuddleable, the other a beautiful Simmental heifer, whom hubby has already earmarked as a future cow !! Hoping for a peaceful night, no births imminent ! Happy Easter Everyone x:easter_baIts just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0 -

I do look very silly in it and surprised the DH even bought me one, however, it does make one of my cats, Mallory, sit on my lap more as he thinks it's a lovely cosy place so I 'have' to wear it so the cat stays warm.....
Your gardening idea sounds fantastic, I love being out in the garden even if it's cold. I make up the flask, pick up my enamel gardening mug (love enamel mugs) and head of to the dizzy heights of the garden.......ok, actually only about 12 foot away from the back door. I can be known to spend hours pottering and have been caught by the family a few times even wearing the onesie out there! :eek:0 -

Are you sure you don't live next door? Everytime it snows at yours, it snows at mine. :rotfl:
Seems to be in a cycle, at the moment. Beautiful sunny mornings, with snow flurries in the afternoon and snowing, come teatime.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?
