I believe it consists of picking up said pile of papers, making sure all possible edges are aligned, and then moving it to a different surface. If this entails moving it to a different room, you get an extra gold star from the tidy police.....

I move it from table to green wire basket. This seems to keep tidy police happy.

I do enjoy a good shred though hahaha

I feel very at home here, in the housework moving things or thinking about them but deciding against it

My hossies stable is immaculate and the yard is very tidy, house not so tidy, too tired to do after the hoss :rotfl:

I only do the extreme minimum of housework but then my house is a partial building site so I cant be bothered and dont encourage anyone around to visit. I too sweep my stable more than my kitchen.

Sounds like you will have to give up on getting a decent night sleep - the more you worry about it the less you will sleep. Talking about the sudden jerking awake - mine is always a horse stamping on my foot and I suddenly jerk my leg up just as I am falling asleep. Probably comes from having my foot jumped on three times in the past! I mean jumped on and not just stood on.

Jeeves sounds wonderful - another who needs to 'see' him please :D
  • Filing for me consists of spreading it all over the floor in varying piles with post it notes on each one. Then getting bored, fed up or running out of time and putting it all back in a heap , finding a box and a cupboard to ram it all into and then rather smugly announcing to anyone who will listen how well I have done !
The trouble is I now have far too many boxes and no more cupboard space to put them in, so I have no alternative but to get it sorted which is this weeks mission x :(

    Welcome Jeeves - picture please??
Yes tidying up - we have a 3 pile system - it has now spread to 2 rooms, so perhaps this is a 6 pile system now???
I have neat piles on my desk it is a distraction strategy I ensure that there is sufficient ON my desk to ensure I look busy and can rearrange things to appear productive. One day someone will see through this cunning plan. So a tidy up there is reshuffling (to get other "new stuff on top" removing / adding notes (coloured are best and date marked sometimes randomly) I also have a selection of examples of stuff which I can sprinkle accordingly.
Any amendments to improve said plan gratefully received.

:wave::wave: Hello from Jeeves! I will post a picture when he keeps still long enough for me to take one. He and The Striped Person WILL get on fine, but maybe not quite yet .... Jeeves is tremendously talented at [STRIKE]foot[/STRIKE]pawball - we now have cat toys and balls of paper under every piece of furniture, which with my housekeeping skills are likely to be there for some time. The only slight glitch he has made today was mistaking some of my freshly-baked-and-cooling-on-a-rack-on-the-table muffins for yet more cat toys to play with, cue muffins on the floor, but luckily only three out of twelve. (I did briefly consider blowing the fluff off and eating them anyway, but luckily hygiene considerations prevailed.)
PS My stables are clean too!!
