Another one here whose animals have immaculate living quarters :o

    Another boring report I'm afraid. It went thus;

Removed cat from chest, fed cat
Mucked out horse, fed horse, put horse in field
    Fed cat, showered
    Went to work
Collected horse from field, fed horse
    Came home, fed cat, showered
    Cooked dinner
    Looked for work
    Launched mse....

    Told you it was boring!

One day someone will see through this cunning plan. So a tidy up there is reshuffling (to get other "new stuff on top" removing / adding notes (coloured are best and date marked sometimes randomly) I also have a selection of examples of stuff which I can sprinkle accordingly.

Plan is great :T. Useful tip which is sort of linked - if you find yourself about to go into a meeting and haven't read the docs, randomly highlight sections and scribble shopping lists in margins. Preferably in 2 different coloured pens, to show you went back for another read . Works especially well if the highlighted section turns out to be quite innocuous and the person next to you starts getting puzzled :rotfl:.

I too sweep my stable more than my kitchen.

I regularly vacuum the coffee table and the inside of the oven:rotfl:

Yes tidying up - we have a 3 pile system - it has now spread to 2 rooms, so perhaps this is a 6 pile system now???
I have neat piles on my desk it is a distraction strategy I ensure that there is sufficient ON my desk to ensure I look busy and can rearrange things to appear productive. We deal with our filing by acquiring filing cabinets - 4 x4 drawer and 2x2 drawer - fr**gle is a wonderful place. Actually we are on a purge of the contents at the moment - taking sooooo long though cos keep finding things we thought lost - pictures letters postcards. Aiming to halve the filing cabinet ownership:D

I have a picture of you walking up and down the coffee table pushing the vacuum cleaner. Not sure about the vacuuming of the oven, I suppose it's one way to lose the vacuum cleaner as I never open it unless necessary. I slam the door of the oven pronto as soon as cooking is over, that way I don't see the need to clean it

When I have to be in the office and I can't bear to stay one moment longer even though boss might be there, I get a glass of ice water and set it on a napkin on my desk. I then pull out of my bottom desk drawer a suit jacket bought at a charity shop around the back of the chair and leave with coat smashed into laptop bag. Anyone peering into mt office sees a cold drink with condensation on the glass & my jacket and assume I am in a late running meeting.

Always carry a file with you on your way to work. If late, it looks like you've been in a meeting.

At meetings I just nod and say yes/no... absolutely... in hopefully the right places... whilst thinking.... what shall we have for tea tonight? red or white wine?and then if everyone has agreed with the last speaker go with the flow and say she/he was absolutely right.... :) Half the time I have no idea what we have agreed to...

I calculate the months till I retire. Days in the office till I retire (hopefully 3 years 7 months :D). Have been known to take leap years into account if really bored. Days till next holiday. Days till payday. Where money will be shuffled on payday. How much I can earn from surveys. How many days that will knock off mortgage. Etc.

Warning - best not to do the above if you are taking minutes. Oops :o.

  • I do love you lot - we are all of the same mind!
My animals are all beautifully clean (chickens cats guineapigs snakes etc) but the housework is mainly crisis management and as for the filing, well when the stack is so tall it keeps falling over then I sort it.
