melatonin works for me, it is a natural remedy sold in America. As I am going there in a week I can get you some while I am there

Yes please. I'll try anything at the moment - owls notwithstanding!

I seem to remember reading that the 'jolt' sensation is some sort of flaw in our brain that interprets the signals of us falling asleep as us slipping into unconsciousness, so our body has a last-ditch attempt at shocking us back awake.

Not sure if it's true, and it still happens to me anyway, but I feel better for thinking there's a reason.

I think I've read something similar. It's some sort of wiring fault! I hate it, I dread going to sleep because of it, which makes it harder to sleep and so the cycle continues...
Re Colin and his night hunts for all these creatures invading his home...my furry girl actually tries to get into the laptop or iPad when I play the kitties on YouTube. There is one of two wee kittens meowing to each other and having quite a lovely chat...my girl gets all concerned.

She is currently hoovering up crunchies from the duvet, little tyke. Honestly, some nights my bed is like sleeping on gravel!! Strangely, hubby isn't allowed food in the bedroom.....

Aren't we lucky to share our homes/lives with all these quirky little characters. :)

Yes, we are very lucky. Although Colin is not allowed food in the bedroom [apart from spiders ] I used to play cat videos for the Bear as he was so funny listening to other cats talk.

I used to love having meowing conversations with my dear cat when she was alive. It's made me feel all warm and fuzzy remembering that.

Hope you are having a good day today.

Colin doesn't talk, he is very quiet, just squeaks for his dinner. He only purrs when I come home and sit down with him. He purrs for about ten minutes then stops. He seems very happy though.

I have nothing to report. I am a very boring person. Yesterday I worked. Today I applied for three jobs I am totally unsuitable/unqualified for. I nearly did the filing. I cleaned and dusted the house and free-schooled the Captain. I think I had two cups of coffee and lots of water. Dinner was leftovers and the wine has completely evaporated....

    See how boring I am!

Hey, you nearly did the filing. :T It's the thought that counts, right?

I didn't even think about my filing. :o

Apparently, it's a way of tidying up the pile of paperwork on the coffee table but...I am uncertain exactly how it is done. :rotfl:

I believe it consists of picking up said pile of papers, making sure all possible edges are aligned, and then moving it to a different surface. If this entails moving it to a different room, you get an extra gold star from the tidy police.....

My major achievement today was dusting the study :rotfl:
