    hi P and Colin,

The outside kennel sounds a fab idea and good news that he comes to call now - perhaps he will do all his business outside now.

Not good news about mortgage and tax man. I hope they can be sorted as you really dont need the stress which is probably why you are a bit run down.

Hope Captain is well, I have made the decision to bring the girls in at night from this weekend - its just too cold out for little TB and she looks like she may have dropped some weight.

    take care x

The outside kennel is to keep him safe and dry when I'm out and about, winter is coming. I've had to take the catflap down, so to speak, as a rogue tabby was coming in and eating the Bear's food as well as terrorising him in his old age. I've noticed the rogue commando cat wandering down the path towards the catflap recently, I don't want him beating up wimpy Colin! All this means Colin may have to be outside without the option of coming in when it rains if I'm not there.

....and he goes out, but saves his pooping for when he comes in! Thanks Colin!

The Captain is in of a night-time too, he gets very stiff from lying on the cold wet grass and hobbles round like the old man he is, much better on a bed of warm straw. He is then fresh to pursue his shetland or think of plans to get into the feed-room...

Today is bin day. I heard the bin men at the end of the road and decided as it was cold [and I was feeling a bit lazy] to quickly put Colin's bagged poop in the wheelie bin.

The bin was already out the front. Just as I was about to pop it in, a bin man materialised, took the bag and with a wink said ' it's always a pleasure to personally collect the rubbish of such a gorgeous lady'

I was wearing my fluffy brown dressing-gown, which my DS3 assures me makes me look like a huge brown mama bear, tied together with a rope round the middle. AND I had bed hair. AND I had a bag of cat poop in my hand.....

I'm still reeling with embarrassment, I hope the bag didn't burst while he walked it back to the lorry :o:o

I haven't posted for a couple of days, where does time go?

    Good things

A friend gave me a huge clump of verbena bonariensis. I have planted it in the newly dug bed, it will look lovely next year, all tall purple flowers weaving in and out of the roses.

Colin cat comes home when called. He seems to be enjoying the outdoor life. I have got him a cat kennel for when I'm not at home, so he stays safe and dry. It is under the jasmine and he seems to quite like it.

    Not so good things

The tax man seems to think I owe him money for private health cover from two different companies. This doesn't make sense, which means I'm going to have to write some letters to him. I haven't had heath cover for about three years, then it was a benefit from the one company I worked for.

My endowment policy is not going to make the forecasted amount to cover my mortgage. Luckily, I made the mortgage part repayment some years ago. However, there was a booklet in there explaining how it might have been mis-sold. I'm going to look into how to claim for it.

Money is so tight this month, I'm not sure how I'm going to manage. Eb@y was going well, I made £60 on one item, then the buyer said they thought it was another brand and have pulled out, so I need to relist. Another item made £37, but that buyer still hasn't paid. Three other items have bids on for £10 each, but so many questions!

I'm a bit under the weather, which is making me tired, nothing particular just a few glands up. But it leaves me with that can't be bothered feeling :o Currently have a hot water bottle against my back as it aches a bit.

Hi P I just got hit with a "you owe us £60 tax for your Private Health Insurance" for last tax year :( I get it through work, they pay for it all but we pay an excess. Speaking of I owe £100 excess for my physio sessions but no one has said anything, hmm to ring or to wait.

Hope they've adjusted my tax code for this year so I don't owe again, they did say they'd take the £60 from this years salary too. boo to them.

Your gorgeousness obviously just shines through!
The deed is done; the vet came and put catto to sleep a couple of hours ago. Could not have been kinder or gentler, it was just as I had hoped it would be, completely peaceful. I now mainly feel relief (and I did just about manage not to cry while the vet was here!). OH will dig a hole when he wakes up (working nights at the mo), so he will be here, at home, and I will plant a quince tree for him, to join the apple tree planted in memory of my horse. Really hope not to have a large orchard .....animals! Why don't they live longer?
I will let you know how my chap (horse) gets on at boarding school. He was quite vocal when we left him, and sadly the other horses, having given him a quick glance, were ignoring him! They are mainly large warmblood types, which make him look tiny.
Does anyone follow Patrick Pony on the BHS FB site? He is an abandoned foal who blogs ... writes really very well. I have wondered if you might be his ghost writer, Piq?!

So sorry about Catto, animals don't live long enough and leave a gaping hole in our lives when they leave us. A quince tree will be a lovely memorial to Catto.
