PIQ I strongly suspect that HMRC have you down as still in your old job too and am sure a quick call will put your mind at ease.

Hi Piq, sorry to hear about your money stresses, its so hard when something like that comes out of the blue. I too have found HMRC helpful on the phone so might be worth a try if you feel up to it.
Colin sounds like quite a character and a handful. Have you got used to calling his name yet? Our first cat ever was named 'baby' by my OH and he REALLY hadn't thought it through. When Baby went missing I was the one going round the streets of London shouting 'Baby' and all the while expecting to be surrounded by midwives or paramedics!! Sadly Baby disappeared, she was very gorgeous with beautiful markings so we suspected someone probably made off with her :-(
Hope you get some sleep X
I still cringe when I call himBut he normally comes scampering down the path straightaway, thank goodness. Today, however, he didn't. I was earlier than he is used to :rotfl:He must have realised I was home though as he was very vocal at the back door, shouting to be let in! At least I'll know he's there :rotfl:
He's sitting on my lap for the first time, if you all look through the screen you'll be able to see his bottom pointing at you. He's purring and snoring at the same time :rotfl:PIQ I strongly suspect that HMRC have you down as still in your old job too and am sure a quick call will put your mind at ease.

Definitely got a horrible bug, it may turn into a cold, at the moment it's at the burning, prickly skin stage and a very tight chest. I still worked my stint at Pr£t, luckily it was a short one today.
I took the B00ts equivalent of N!tol last night and slept better, but found it very difficult to get going this morning!
Tonight I am going to fight colin for the fluffy throw and hot water bottle (he's not sick) and watch television all night, starting with Strictly. Plenty of water and soup and I should be on the road to recovery in no time at all.
I'm not working tomorrow so will have a day outside gardening and riding, that should also help move the bug along.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

feel better dear Piq - so nice to hear colin is snuggling, snoring and purring on your lap, how lovely you have your very own hot cat to warm you through.

Glad you're sounding a bit more cheerful, and I hope the gardening and riding tomorrow carry you well onto the road to recovery.
Had a lovely surprise today: went to the yard where Kind Trainer has my chap, and she was riding him!! She has only had him for 5 days, but what I really like about her is her sensitivity; she has taken things at his pace, and he obviously let her know he was bored of long-lining and lunging, and ready for the next step. He looked slightly tentative, but got lots of gentle reassurance from her, and all was calm. I'm really chuffed, and can't stop grinning. She thinks he is wonderful (she's right, of course!), and although I am sure there will be a few bumps on the road, I feel confident and happy that she was the right choice. She is also keen to find a few mares for him next year, so we may even cover our costs, which would be fantastic......
Love to all for a happy and healthy weekend, the cake xxx0 -
Morning Piq, hope you feel better today. Did Colin share his hot water bottle?
