What will be, will be. This is her life and I'm proud that she has grabbed it by the b*lls and is living it to the full. This is what I had hoped for all my children, it's just that the theory is so much easier than the actual.

Yes, technology will link us, but it won't replace girly nights of toe painting or shopping trips to blag free samples of moisturiser and perfume. She is my only shopping flavoured child, the rest are football flavoured... and not nearly so adventurous!

I appreciate your support, thank you.

Would you like to hear about my exciting day?? I thought you would!

I bought some herbal sleeping tincture as I can't sleep, words cannot describe how horrible it tastes. You're supposed to have one teaspoon with your evening meal and two at bedtime. It is so disgusting that I spluttered it all over my clean white tee-shirt  I've tried sponging the stain out, but it's not happening, so I have had to dig round to find enough things to wash with it. Fingers crossed that it comes clean. And boy, am I looking forward to the two teaspoons at bedtime....not.

Did a stint at Pr*t, very hot and humid and not a banana to be had. All fruit was up to standard and couldn't come home with me :(

I made a salad so delicious I wanted seconds, which rather defeats the purpose of eating salad to lose weight :o Fresh baby spinach, basil and cherry tomatoes, topped with avocado, toasted pine nuts and parmesan shavings. Lovely!

I still need to look round for car insurance as mine is due on the 30th. It's gone up £50 despite not having claimed on it

I do appreciate each and every one of you, thank you for being there for me.

Hope you sleep well - not sleeping is horrible ....
Maybe I should tell you about my self-hypnosis sleeping thingy - it works for me? (Even thinking about it makes me start yawning: bizarre)

The revolting elixir didn't work, more money wasted...

I fall asleep really quickly and sleep for anything from 5 minutes to an hour then I have a huge all over body jerk, I don't know how else to describe it, a sort of adrenaline rush in my stomach and feel like I'm falling. Then I'm awake for hours, normally until three or four.

The Bear cannot wait past seven for breakfast....

Please let me into your sleep hypnosis secret.

s'okay, I go through Quidco for most things. It's one of the first things I learned about, all those years ago when I joined mse.

Oh Piq I know that scenario well scary isn't it. And annoying after a time. I managed it by getting into a routine, doing some yoga stretches before bed, usual stuff like no caffeine in afternoons no food for 3 hours before bed, but I found meditation helped a lot. Make your out breath longer than the in breath, 4 in 6 out close your eyes and focus on the space behind your eyes every time your mind wanders or races go back to breathing.
Once I broke the cycle it got better, hate to state the obvious but it is stress related you know.

Honey if you are having trouble sleeping how about giving your mind something else to focus on like going back to writing your blog or some more Captain stories. I know you don't feel up to it at the mo but the relief may actually prove to be therapeutic x

I sometimes get that horrible waking up with a start thing too ....
This is my self hypnosis thingy, got from, of all places, the Jonathan Ross show (the only good thing?):
Get comfortable and relax. Then visualise the number 10, and silently say "Ten" to yourself - keep the visualisation, gently push away any other thoughts. Do that for a few minutes, then repeat the exercise, using the number 9. Carry on down the numbers ... I have never ever got below 7. Even typing this has got me yawning! Good luck, sleep well ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

hi Piq.. does that nasty stuff have Valarian in it? it smells and tastes awful.

As a chronic insomniac and sometimes user/abuser of sleeping pills, the only thing I have found to snap me out of a spell is staying awake as long as I possibly can and then collapsing about 3 am and forcing myself to get up at 6am for one day and that seems to get me back sleeping throough the night for a few weeks.
